Looking at buying our first Z and wondering what price people have been able to get from dealer's
It's an 05 new with 42 as MSRP
What should we expect?

Check out this site:

www.edmunds.com

Put in the exact information on the car and get the Invoice and TMV prices and then shoot for something close to invoice.

Is it a roadster? I hope so with that MSRP. I paid 31,250 for my 05 touring (new).

Take a look at this thread, it should help you out.

BTW, I got mine for 41k out the door, with the 5yr/100k warranty. ( saved about 6k from sticker and about 2k from invoice )

You shouldn't expect anything. Take control of the sale and make an offer: $37,800.
