Default Is an 05 touring gold to these dealers?

I have talked to several dealers in my area showing interest in an 05 yellow touring 6mt.

My 1st concern is that if the dealership has one it is an 08/04 production and this has been very common. Why is it that these dealerships still have so many of the 1st 05 shipment sitting around?

My 2nd concern is they are holding onto them as if they are gold. Geezzz...the 06's are here and I am trying to deal on a 08/04 production run. What gives??? Am I missing something or are these dealerships not hungry enough yet?

Seems to me that 30,900 is not a great price on a touring 6mt with the typical options plus side air bags already 1 model year old.

Yes you may be missing something: Did you make an offer on the car?

Yeah...i didnt make an offer yet....but the quotes i got were

2005 Touring, 5AT, the usual, aero kit, floormats, kick plate, cargo kit, sport pedals - $30500

2006 Touring, 5AT, the usual again - $31500

$1000 difference? wtf? of coz i would jump on the 2006, but why? dont they wanna let go those 2005s?

Instead of asking about the price, I suggest that you make an offer. Salespeople are very in tune with who is window shopping, and who is buying.

I made an offer $1K less their offer of 30800. They all laugh. So I will hold out for an 06 and get it at invoice...from my local dealer who I have bought 4 nissans from.

I guess the point I failed to make is these Internet sales are a joke. They want to lure you in so they can get you into something you didn't ask for. Atleast this has been my experiance so far.

My local dealer who has been very good to me has made the best offer so far. The problem I have is it is an 08/04 production. This is the part I don;t get. When you find 05's they typically seem to be early 05 prods. This is odd to me.

Ya that sucks. Seems odd they don't want to deal on the 05. I would just get the 06 if there is only a $1000 price difference. If it was a $3000 difference then I would probably go with the 05.

Just got my '05 Touring (A/T...hehe) 7 days ago & it was an 07/05/2005 model....paid below invoice....BUT, only after speaking with EVERY single dealerships' internet sales mgr.'s from the entire 30miles+ radius of my house....(which is about 7 or more)...'05 Tourings were very hard to find, AND no-one wanted to haggle like they were, in fact, made of GOLD ;(
