looking for a Z... please help
hi,
I want to buy a Z, but my budget is 25k. I could find 03-04 for that price, but I hear too many problems with the front suspensions and tire heathering problem?
is it the problem that serious? does it affect every 03-04 Z ?
thanks.

Don't buy an early production 2003. Factory now has extended warranty for up to 3 years or 36K miles for this issue, original was only 1 year 12K miles.
Nissan has their arms around this issue now...perhaps not a great car if you want to swap out wheels and tires for after markets due this issue. But you can't get a better value out there......I would just take the car to the dealer when you get alignment, balance, tire rotation work done...They "claim" they have worked with Bridgestone and now offer tires that have eliminated this issue...if you buy a late production 2003 and 2004 your chances of this problem are a lot less. Early production 2003 also had window streaking problems, transmission problems, bad stereo amps...so just avoid those early 2003's.

I think you can do better than the 04 Z you mentioned...miles are a bit high and so is price...since your buying used, I would buy the Touring, as you won't be paying much extra for all the additional options...make sure you buy a carfax report on the vehicle....you should buy a 1 owner car, that has all paperwork, books, etc...their a plenty of Z's out there so don't rush....ideally you would buy from an "mature" person who now just wants a bigger car for wife, kids, etc....

How much should I offer him? $22k?
