If you want to pay under MSRP for a Z in Southern California, you may have to wait a while.
A month ago they were still trying to get over MSRP in SoCal and through a lot of haggling will settle for MSRP. I suspect nothing has changed in the past month.
If this is still the case (and others can confirm or deny) you may have to either wayt a long time or be willing to pay sticker.
I've always negotiated car prices using invoice as a reference point. When I bought my Z (paid MSRP), this was the first time I used MSRP as a refernce point. But then again, the Z isn't your typical car .
If you're trying to do a cash deal, that will work against you, not in your favor. The dealer wants/needs to make money from the financing.

yeah, be sure to keep the cash a secret till you have the deal done and are about to pay.
itll be tough going under MSRP, specially in a car crazed area like california. Id say find a dealer with a ton on the lot. but he might have a ton because he wont budge from over MSRP.
anyway, if you want it now, you will have to pay that extra 1000 or so up to MSRP; think of it as a early arrival fee. being the first on the block takes a little extra cash.
