Depends who you ask apparently. Accordiing to several all on here the 8 handles better. But, several buddies of mine who have both tend to rave about the Zs handling abilities. I guess it varies by person--a test drive is your only answer. I prefer the Z.

Currently I am getting 18 MPG all city (i think the cold has to do with it) and i have gotten 28 on an entirely highway trip.

Oh yeah, stock for stock, its faster than the Z in the 1/4 (sorry I just had to put that in there )

And DoomCue, your gas mileage probably resulted from the HORRIBLE traffic on the way home on I-40 into Raleigh
Actually, in the mornings I'm going away from RTP (which is where everybody else is headed), so I have a pretty stress free ride in to work. In the afternoon, I'm going toward RTP when everyone is leaving, so again I have a pretty stress free ride home. In fact, from the 540 exit to work (and vice versa), I never slow down below 65 either way.

I have worked in RTP before, and I don't miss the stop and go traffic one damn bit. Fifteen mph on an Interstate is friggin' ridiculous....

The one thing with my 8 was that the blind spot was huge because of how short the door was and the pillar blocked out a lot of view. When I went to look over my shoulder in the Z, it seemed as though there was very small blind spot at all in comparison to my 8, I think it is because the Z's door seems A LOT longer than the 8, and the Z's front window is a lot bigger than the 8's front window. I don't know, DoomCue, do you notice the same things I'm noticing?

I wasn't able to take it out for a test drive cause I was just looking and harassed by car saleman, plus it was automatic. I'm sort of excited to feel the difference in performance in the Z and the 8, is there a big noticable difference?
The blind spot in the coupe is much smaller than in the 8. The 8 definitely requires good mirror setup. Of course, I drive the roadster version of the Z, which has an ever bigger blind spot than the 8. I'm used to using my mirrors constantly, though, so it's no big deal. But yes, I noticed the same things you have.

As far as performance, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the smoothness of the power in the Z. It's definitely faster straight-line than the 8. The 8 definitely handles better - the Z seems to push a bit (understeer) whereas the 8 was almost totally neutral. I have no numbers or track time to back that up, it's just the feeling I get from the car's feedback.

Actually I remember, TopGear did a review on the 8 and the track time for the 8 was faster than the 350z and same time as the M3. I just want the feeling of torque I guess because whenever I'd get on it in my 8, it didn't really have the "throw yourself back" type power until in the upper rpm range, do you understand what I'm trying to say? lol might be a little confusing.

If the Z will be your only car, don't buy it. It's a horrible daily car.

Any chance you've seen some good deals on Z's in the area? I test drove one at Michael Jordan Nissan in Durham today but they wouldn't come down much off of their price. They want almost $26k for a 04 enthusiast
