im currently looking to get into a Z within the next few weeks here and im coming across a situation. ive owned a Z in the past and would like to get into another one. i want a Z with less than 30k miles and has a warranty. well i could get a

2004 with 23k for $18,000 could i then buy the extended warranty via the dealership for $1,100? arent the 2004 still under warranty?

OR

2005 with 8k for $22,000 which will have the factory warranty for a bit longer but costs about $4,000 more

any imput would get great! thanks again

ID go with the 05. Besides being yr newer and hopefully rev up motor. As far as warranties go they r usually a joke. Do your homework on what is covered find it in writing not just what the sells man tells you. Goodluck!

both cars are showing 287hp. ill check into whats covered with the extended warranty if its like what i had with my other vehicle ill just pocket the 1,100 and save it for repairs when needed................or mods

I've been driving Zs since the 80s. I put 110-130k on 'em before selling.
I've had several expenses around the $500-700 area -- tires, timing belts -- all routine maintenance.

The extended warranty isn't forever, i.e. I've had my cars past the extended warranty period and STILL not had an expensive fix. In my experience, the extended warranty is money down a rathole.

... Purly for interest I wouldn't try and buy it befor you could or anything... lol
