By '05 Now? Or Wait 1 Month?
I might finally be ready to pick up my first Z! I am looking at a couple of '05's that are right around $21-$22K range.
However, some people on this forum think that the new '08's will come out within a month or so. If this happens, do you think there will be a drastic affect on the price of '05's? -- something like $2-$3K less?
I would hate to pickup an '05 this weekend only to see the overall prices drop drastically, if the '08's do in fact come out within a month or so.
What do you think?

The car will not depreciate just because a new model comes out. Look at the impact the 2007 Z had, nada. The 2008 will be identical to the 2007 Z, so nothing will change. Get the car and start enjoying it.
Depends what you can afford. If you buy the 2008 make sure you can afford it. its almost 10K difference thats like $200.00 more per month! And BTW in 2 years the value of the 08 will depreciate almost 10K meaning you'll be throwing away that 10K.
Thanks for the replies! I finally went out and test drove two Z's today. One was an 05 Touring Roadster w/29K miles, and one 06 Base coupe w/15K miles. Both were 6-speed manuals.
I've read a lot about the very high clutch engage points on these cars, but man, either both clutches are just about out/done, or this will take some getting used to!
So, just to confirm, both clutches basically felt like I could simply rest my foot on the clutch pedal and shift -- pressing the pedal to the floor meant I had to let it almost completely out before it engaged. Is this normal?
Also, with the clutch pedal pressed in and the car in gear, the shifter **** seriously vibrates. It's not so bad when in neutral, and/or when the clutch pedal is not pressed in -- and not so bad when in gear and driving. Is this normal too?

Thanks davidv! Digging around through old posts???
Just as most people here have said, I am glad that I made my purchase. And I did finally get used to the clutch, after about a week.
For anyone who is on the edge of decision, just go for it! Saving a little bit of money now will not compare with the actual ownership...
As for the car: So far, I've had the 30K maintence done, an alignment and re-balance of all four tires. Shortly after, I had to pickup completely new front tires due to feathering, since they were already worn. I also had the MAF replaced (under warranty) due to low idle/stalling. Checking my alignment sheet, the front toe settings were way out of spec, so hopefully the new front tires will last this time. I guess the previous owner never had the feathering issue corrected.
