Default Simply amazing.....

Well i have been wanting a Z for a while and i finally test drove an 06 Lemans Enthusiast today! The car just blew my mind on how fun it was to drive. I have had an 03 Cobra, Ws6 Trans Am and an STI in the past but the Z was just awesome. I am looking at a few different Z's local but i really fell in love with this one. What do you guys think would be a good starting offer for it? They have it listed at $24,995 (dumb dealer price). The car is pretty much mint besides a little curb rash on the drivers side front wheel. I was at the dealer inspecting it for a while I have already taken care of the financing through my bank but just needed some feedback from the experts here on what i should offer first. Thanks a lot guys! I am stilll gleaming from the test drive!! Let me know what you guys think,

for 25k, i would invest a few more thousand and get a new 07 or 08, or hell get a used 07 or 08, if you like the revup motor then youll like the HR even more.

found a 07 touring on carmax for 26k and a 07 nismo for 31k

damn, not bad for a nismo 8k miles for 31k. ppw is pretty rare too from ive read.

IMHO i think the HR would be a better bet.

you obviously are not looking at going for FI soon.

if you are amazed by the REV-UP motor, the HR will also amaze you, just slightly more.

it would be worth it to spend the extra $$$$ for a used 07 or used 08.

and plus, the power bulge on the new hoods are teh secks.

IMHO anyway.

Yea maybe i will try to find an 07 to see the difference in the HR and DE. I havent been able to find any 07's in MI that are used but i guess i will keep looking. If i were to try and make an offer do you think 24k OTD would be reasonable?

SKID: I really miss my WS6. It was sunset orange and i think thats the reason i love the lemans so much, brings back good memories It was a beast too. Miss that Hurst shifter.
Anyways.....main reason i am buying a Z now is that i have to sell my bike that i just bought last May. I lost all peripheral vision in my right eye and cant ride anymore. I will be posting this in the marketplace soon too but here are a few pics......

Sick Bike !! I still own my Firebird. Even with $2000 worth of suspension upgrades to it I find the Z more tossable around corners. In the straights I still like the torque of that LS1.... with or without the added goodies.

You'll find the Z stock to stock is almost as fast as the WS6. It's just smoother... and it revs more too. I'd hate to give up my Z or my Bird.

But, I'd do it for a Ferrari ... since the wife doesn't like Z06 Vettes. ;-(

That's exactly what i told my co-worker who also bought a used 06 for 24K. I would rather spend few more thousands to get a brand new 07/08 than used 06. IMO

it depends on how important the cars color is to you.
You realize that the le mans sunset is not available in 07+ so the 06 you were looking at is its last year made.

If color is not important, by all means, wait for an 07. if the le mans sunset is the one you have your eye on, go for it.

btw, the price shows reduced to 22.9k in that autotrader link you posted.

+1

You could just spend less than $3000 more and get a new 2008 base Z. Why even consider a 2006 when a new one is only a little bit more?

Personally, I believe you're paying way too much for a 2006 Enthusiast. My friend bought a 2006 Enthusiast for $18,500 with only 16k miles on it. Clean title, in perfect condition, and mint condition.
