You are the type of customer that makes this job extremely frustrating at times. Reward whoever has put up with you to this point with your busniess and a good survey ASAP.

$1,000 - $2000 does not matter over the term you will own this car. You are being greedy. I hope your next post is your new 350Z parked in front of your house.

I sell cars... and frankly indecisive customers like you annoy the shlt out of me.
Pick a Fukin car and make an offer, if you don't like it tell the salesperson it's too high if he won't negotiate leave and go buy it somewhere else.
Car sales people are human too- don't run around wasting peoples time because you don't have the ***** to make a decision.

That being said, i hope you enjoy your new car. Quit dlcklng around and go buy it.

like i said, i called the dealer, and made them an offer. they had told me time and again to just let them know what it takes to get my business. so, i told them.

the salesman said he'd have to check with his Sales Manager, and he'd get back to me in an hour. so he called back an hour later, and told me he needed more time, and would get back to me.

its dark now, and i havent heard back from them. perhaps they will call tomorrow. then again, i might have called their bluff, and i wont hear from them again.........

he'll call you back even if it's to say no. (unless you've really peeved them off or made them a totally rediculous offer) It's possible that his mgr has gone home for the day, or they put in a call to a wholesaler to try and get you more money on your car. If he does not call you back DO NOT TELL THE OTHER DEALER. - then you'll look like an idiot and the car will suddenly have another buyer willing to pay more.

I don't see what the OP is doing wrong, he's trying to negotiate for the best deal. I would feel sorry if you were dealing with me , cause I would negotiate the sh*t out of whoever for the deal that I want it for. Unless I really want it that bad I'll pay for what it's worth.

Here, go to this website and search for 350Zs. When you find the one you want, call your dealers and tell them you want that car at a price 1,000 dollars lower because you have already found a car at that price and will buy there if need be. For example, they have a Red Nismo with a MSRP of 40,100 they are selling for 36,900. Tell your local dealer you want the same thing for 36,000 even. If they bite, then great you got a great deal. If not, maybe they will meet you in the middle and you still got a really good deal. Just do not tell them what dealer is giving you this deal like you did with the last one. Tell them it is out of state, but you do not mind driving for that good of deal.

Also, like others have said, keep the used car and new Z as TWO separate transactions. That is the only way not to get hosed on the deal.

This car dealership is in San Antonio, and they do not haggle on prices. Instead, they sell the car for what you should pay. I have bought cars from them before, and they were always the lowest anywhere between Austin to Houston.

Lol... didn't mean that to sound as bad as it did. It's SO frustrating when people want to negotiate without knowing what their goal even is. So many people come in thinking they know how dealerships work, and negotiate based on what Edmunds says - (which is complete BS by the way) and I have NEVER seen a "click here and we'll buy your car for this price without seeing it, just trusting you" button on Kelly Blue Book... Idon't walk into an ice cream store and tell the clerk how to fill a cone, I don't walk into a mortgage brokers office and tell them how to structure my loan, I don't tell the waitress how to carry my drink from the bar to the table. It just amazes me the way I get treated at work sometimes by people that really have no freaking clue about the business, or how will waste countless hours of my time and lead me on like i'm going to sell them something then beat me up over the last fricken penny and I end up making a $350 flat for 2 days worth of work- like this guy.
If you're not willing to pay full sticker for the car shop online, pick out your car before you get to the dealership, figure out what you want to pay for the damn thing, figure out what you need for your trade in, what you can afford monthly, get permission from your wife, husband, kid, neighbor, dog or whoever- go to the dealership, be honest with the salesperson and then take the car if they meet your goals. You'll only be at the dealer for 2 hrs max, and the sales person will give you a better demonstration of the car because they won't be completley frustrated with how inept you are at making a decision and how much of their time you've wasted... that's all.

Do not, repeat, DO NOT trade your present vehicle in!!! Sell it privately, THEN
take cash with you (added bonus: gives you leverage!). Next, work your way
up from the dealer's sticker price, NOT down from what he's asking, dude! Get
a copy of CR, & DO YOUR HOMEWORK; that'll save you mucho dinero, maybe
a couple or three thousand!!! Since the economy is mucho malo, YOU have the power to call the shots!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!

i received a phone call from the owner last night who said he wanted to get me into a 350Z. he had left me that message. so i just now called him back and talked with him.

they had given me a price of $24,900 and i told them i had an offer of $24,000. he said he'd come down to $24,700, and i should consider how good their service department is, and that its going to cost them $300 to go and get the car.

once again, i told him i would be throwing money away if i took his offer just because he was 40 miles closer. he thanked me, and that was it.

one dealer eliminated. just cannot believe he wouldnt take $24,000???

Are you talking OTD pricing or before?

Never make offers before OTD because they'll stick you with random BS.
If its OTD pricing you should get everything you need and the price will not go up a penny.

First off, if you came to me I'd blow you off, you're really annoying, that means you wont get the best price.

Get a loan ahead of time, find the car YOU WANT, no matter if its more or less, just make sure its what you want. Find out what the car is worth, who cares what the dealer is listing it for. Once you know that, go into the dealership and tell them, I want to buy a car today, I'm looking at a few cars today, I have cash in hand and if you can get me the price I'm looking for, I WILL buy your car today. If the sales guy gives you any crap about no specials or the prices are set or not much room to go, tell him you want to see the manager. Again, tell the manager (if it comes to that) you have money in hand and if they're willing to sell you a car, you're willing to buy it today.

If trade in for your car is 7K and the sticker on the Z is 32K I would offer them 24K OTD 1000 under sticker + tags and tax should easily be doable.

If they say no sorry we can't meet that price, DONT BULL **** THEM and try to haggle, just say, Thank you for your time shake their hands and walk out.

done

you wont waste their time, and they wont waste your time.

everyones happy.
