No offense but I do not believe you on the paying sticker price part, I was in the business for 7 years and maybe one or two in that time paid sticker. WOW, if your brother is top dog with 13 cars that dealership needs some new Salesman, lead Salesman selling 13 cars, lol. The dealer must be in Timbucktoooo with Fluid1.

 

I was offered a brand new 2008 350z for $3k OFF MSRP and the dealer is willing to sell it with an even larger reduction if pushed.

both Edmunds and Cars.Com say Manufacturer to Dealer is now up to $3,500 through 6/30/08. it was $2,000 and the dealer said he would pass that along to me.

what am i missing?

just got several new pics today from the dealer down in Cape Girardeau, MO of this San Marino Blue 350Z with the Frost Leather interior. all i can say is beautiful, beautiful car!

but i still cant decide if i want to part with $480 a month for five years to have this.......

if you're having a hard time parting with $480...you may also want to consider other costs (i.e. maintenance)

well, correct me if i am wrong, but with the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, i have a long, long time to go before i have to worry about any maintenance costs, right? and with a 5 yr/60,000 on the engine/transmission, any major repair bills are a distant future.

a couple of posters indicated to me that i should also consider maintenance costs. i simply asked why due to the warranty involved. i see no reason for idiotic insults, but thats your choice.

now, once again, am i missing something here regarding maintenance and/or warranty costs? i assume i am home free for three years, as well as 5 years on the engine/transmission.

warranty doesnt cover maintenance. maintenance is not reparis.

if the maintenance schedule is followed and done at the dealership, it can be fairly pricey, as dealership's tend to be pretty outrageous when it comes to prices.

 

Please, excuse my frustration with you- however it seems to me that you started a thread asking for advice from other people and since the very first response on this waste of space and time you have not listened to or done a damn thing that anyone has reccomended to you. You still havn't purchased a vehicle, and now you're piddling over the price of maintenance on a car you havn't even purchased yet because you're completley incapable of making a decision.
There are maintenance costs associated with any vehicle you purchase (with the ecxeption of BMW) and all manufacturers that sell in the united states have a limited warranty.
You obviously have internet access or you wouldn't be confusing yourself with all of this fantastic information. Do some research!
Why don't you call the service department at your local dealership and ask them to mail you a copy of the service schedule? While you're at it, you should ask them for coupons, let them know that jiffy lube has $19.99 oil changes and that you'd like to negotiate a price for your services- don't forget to look up the national average repair costs for that specific vehicle on consumer reports and compare it with the price that they're giving you. Then get on this site and create a useless thread about it. (wanna make sure you're not getting ripped off you know) When their price is higher, you should call the service manager then demand a discount when he laughs at you because you're wasting his time call the 4 other closest dealers to you and repeat that process until you have wasted 12 days of your life and countless hours of other peoples time to save 7 bucks.

 

i searched on Maintenance, and really didnt find anything regarding a maintenance schedule and costs associated with the 350Z.

the only thing i saw was that there is a 30,000 mile maintenance plan, and a 60,000 mile maintenance plan. someone suggested perhaps there might be a 7,000 maintenance plan also.

if your talking tires, rotating them, oil changes, etc, that is all understandable. i assumed from some of the comments there is perhaps a yearly maintenance plan that you have to have done in order that the 350Z would run properly.

so far nobody has said anything about what these maintenance costs would be.......
