i have both cars currently. the s2k is my daily driver and the z is the weekend/track car.

i love driving both cars, but they are completely different. i always drive the s2k with the top down, that's my favorite feature about the s2k. yes it is much slower than my z (turbo 400whp), but it's just as fun to drive for me.

i think if i had bought the s2k first, i would have never bought the z.

had a fist gen S2k (got it December '99) and have had my Z since 2003. Both awesome cars, in totally different ways. Out of all the cars I've owned to date (alot in the last 17 years!) both cars are at the top of the list

LOL, not fatty at all. im 6' 220lbs I used to body build for a long time. its not small it terms of fitting, all kinds can "FIT" but like you said, "like a glove" < thats scary when accidents come along. you know the space is limited. also for those who are clostraphobic, forget about stretching of any kind

I was thinking about getting an S2K as my next car instead of the Z but just fell in love with the Z the minute I test drove one. I would hardly use the drop top feature and would probably get a hard top anyways which beats the purpose. Although, White on White hard top S2K is the sex.

The S2k is ghey. If you want to look good driving your lover around then the Honda is your best pick. The Z and Z roadster are for real men.

5'11, 200 lbs....I rolled my first S2k 4 times, ended up upside down (and the top was down at the time of the accident). Not a single body panel was unscathed, a pillars crushed, front right suspension ripped off the car (shock, arms, wheel, etc all tore off as a single unit). I was home 4 hours later after a couple quick stitches in the hospital. It's a small car, but it is insanely strong. It was one of those "holy ****" type accidents, where the cops/ems could not believe I was alive, let alone that I crawled out myself and was just chilling on the side of the road waiting for them to come. It did so well, I went out and bought another one a few days later!

Yeah, these threads are so stupid. Why would you go on a Z forum and ask "350 or S2k?" Dude either the op is 17 or he is just a plain *******.

Wow Damm, I cant believe you made it out okay. The S2k looks like a sardine can. It's amazing how you walked away from that with no major injuries.

I hear ya. I bought my first S2k when it first was released in winter '99, as a "safe" alternative to buying another bike (had been heavily eyeing a Ducati 996 at the time). I ended up talking myself out of another bike, and got the car instead. There were pics posted online of the car after it got back to the body shop (where it was deemed a total loss), and it was scary. I literally walked away with 5 stitches in my head, that was it (but I was sore for about a week!) The car is insanely safe and strong, and that's why I didn't hesistate to buy another one

the s2k is definatelt a strong rigid car especianlly for the weight. every one complains about the tourque but you all boost your z's so boost the s2000. i've have the pleasure of driving a boosted and na s2k the difference is night and day. plus after also driving and owning my z i'd have to give the honda the nod on build quality. at least the 02 and up with the glass window and the leather center console.

Overall quality - s2k
Torque - Z

I don't like convertibles and the rx8 is torque less as well....so the Z it is.

You should post this up in s2ki as well.

Check out my thread... It's got a lot of useful informationhttps://my350z.com/forum/350z/298009...50z-s2000.html
Let's just say after a lot of thought and consideration, I chose the Z. Never looked back
