Saw a question about fitting in the s2k's so I'm going to respond to that as well. I am 6'1 and 200lbs (muscle) and I fit like a glove in the s2k which I was surprised at. Now any bigger and taller than yes you will have a hard time fitting in the s2k. The Z is def larger in cabin room but you lose the race car feel that you get from being in the s2k and sitting down low. The 350z too me is basically a japenese "mustang".

thats basically how these 350z vs. s2k threads work, eveybody's basically saying the same thing over and over again, it's useless.

Calling the 350Z a Japanese Mustang is actually fairly common. It's not really an insult, just the way it is designed differently than the typical Japanese car . It's affordable, popular, relatively heavy, average interior at best, larger displacement and torque than most of it's competitors, clunky gearbox, available in different trims, etc.

sorry to hijack the thread but,
yes, it is an insult, atleast it is to me, the Z does have a higher quality. Their not even the same class of car, which is why you can't compare the two because they have basic things in common. The Z is a track worthy sports car, and a rustang is a hybrid muscle/sports car thing, oh and a ford POS.

Mutangs happen to be, and have been, extremely capable race cars for many, many, many years longer than the Z has been in fact (since the '60's) -. Might not be your cup of tea, and that's fine, but that's a separate discussion. Both cars have a long, well established history in motorsports, and both cars are icons of their respective car cultures

1nate7 & Z1 Performance thank you.

Too 350z racer05 the 350z is nowhere the end all of sports car. Is it nice and great bang for the buck. Yes. Is it perfect? Not by a long shot. No car is perfect well maybe the porshe 911 lol. I am not a fan of Ford myself, more of a Mopar man but the mustang as z1 Performance said is a capable car itself that like the Z offers great performance for the buck. GT 500 on the other hand to me is overprice for what you get since you can just by a cobra for half that and mod it well beyond the GT 500. Just my . Later.

I had a S2000 and really liked it, but the Z is definitely a better car in my opinion.

The Z has better handling and confort. I also can use the Z in the winter because of the heater seats and traction/stability control.

I am 6'3'' and had no problem to fit in the s2000.

I wish I can have both.

I don't know about that one. The Z does not even compare to the S when it comes to handling.

OK, but none of that leads to them being the SAME car, because like I said before, their not even the class of car, but it would appear the mustang's being favored here, big surprise.

I don't know what to tell you other than don't get offended so easily. We aren't directly comparing the two, but rather the similarities they have in their respective market. I chose the Z over the Mustang and would do it again. Interestingly enough, this thread was started over comparing two cars that have very little in common.

You would be surprised what cars some people come from or move on to. The Z attracts a wide range of buyers (kind of like a Mustang ) who's interests might not be the same as yours.

These were the two cars i was deciding between a couple months ago. I like the S2k but i liked the 350z better. Im about 6'0 150lbs and i thought the s2k was way to small. I think it may handle a little better from a stock platform but its not nearly as fun to drive. The Z's torque and engine growl alone sold me really. Plus it has such a cool interior setup, and i fit my D2 Navi in there with no problems which was convenient.

Aside from being sporty Japanese cars, they are both so different.

I would take both if I could...of course one would be reserved for track duties.
