350z or s2k?

Not to say that the Z doesn't look good as a roadster but hardtop is just my preference
I currently own an s2k and its a blast! It handles very well and has a very potent 4 cylinder. The only reason I bought the s2k is because I wasn't too comfortable moving away from Honda's reliability and high reving engines. Unfortunately, if you are planning on modding the living daylights out of the s2000, you will be very disappointed with the results (unless you go f/i). The engine is already maxed out and anything (within reason) you do will not add any HP or TQ to the package...rather, it could do the opposite.
The lack of room, comfort, and power has drawn me to a somewhat larger vehicle which is the 350z. Hence, the reason I created this account here.
My only suggestion to the OP is to drive both cars and decide for yourself what you like, rather than try and have others decide for you. Its your car, your decision, and your money.

get neither. just get a eclipse gsx with 6k and spend around 5k into it=11k and you will be close to 11sec. in 1/4mile. they look good, comfortable, fast, awd, and they make them convertibles also if you want don't mind 2wd
lets hear all the haters

I was thinking about getting an S2K before I purchased this Z but decided not too because I doubt I would be using the drop top often. If I did purchase the S2K my first mod would have been a nice hard top. White on White was my goal car for a pretty long time.
Yes, the difference to me is fairly big. The s2k hugs you everywhere you go, all the controls and shifter is within a small movement here and there, the cabin feels as if it restricts your movement at times. It wasn't a big deal when I first got the car, I actually enjoyed the race-car feel, now however I'd like to be able to stretch and relax in a more comfortable environment.
Although the 350z doesn't exactly have a soft ride quality, it does feel much better than the s2k on roads (stock for stock at least), it has more head room, more leg room, and more inside cabin space. The 350 almost felt like a plane cabin when I first drove the car.
I may get flamed for this on the 350z forum, but what I think the s2k has better by far than the 350z is the short shifter and the transmission. Its a joy to drive! And if I were (which I'm thinking about it) to trade in the s2000 for the 350, I will dearly miss the feeling of that f20c's high revs and precise shifting transmission.

But this is IMHO. Im a mitsubishi guru.
That is true though. A lot of used S2Ks I see on Craigslist is listed as salvaged from theft recovery. I was also reading that the stock seats and rails for the S2K cost 8-9K from the dealership. Not sure if that's true or not but people probably sell the seats all the day long to put it in their Integra. The owner get's owned because they have to claim total loss on the car.
...Hah...the seats ARE expensive...but not 8-9 grand worth...not sure where he got that from but Honda dealerships sell them for roughly 1500 and private sellers sell them from 700-1000 depending on condition. But yes, if the roof gets cut and the seats get stolen, the insurance most likely will consider it a total lost.

I'm sure someone's said it before already...but the car is not for everyone. Take it out for a spin before you commit. You're friend obviously liked the car when he bought it...otherwise he probably wouldn't have pulled the trigger...
