Default Making a purchase; need advise

Hello, I am a new member to this forum and I am writing from Malaysia. I am in the market for a used 350Z Roadster. I think this car is sexy as hell (next to my neighbor's disturbingly effeminate goat). But I do need to declare that I know very little about 350Z's.

I know a used car importer here in Malaysia who will be bringing in a 2004 350Z Roadster from Japan next week. He guarantees me that the car is in excellent condition and sent some pictures of the car's interior. I've thumbnailed them below (I hope correctly).

I need specific advise on the following:

1. Does the seat leather look original to you guys? Do any 350Z's come with red leather stitching?

2. The mileage is just > 30K Kilometers. Suspiciously low for a 2004 car. Is it easy for car salespeople to mess around with the 350Z mileage counter? (i.e. to bring the mileage down?)

3. The original color is silver, but I will definitely paint the car black, and change the tail lights to the all-Red LED version. I've always wanted to own a black roadster. Any special considerations I should be aware of when sending it for paint?

4. I'm thinking what type of "black" to specify when sending the car for paint. Do you guys know the original black color code for 350Z roadster?

5. What are your general comments about the interior? Does anything peculiar/interesting stand out in the photos? Ghost apparitions maybe?

6. I see in some online pictures here that there is a clear plastic windbreaker in the rear between the two seats. I don't see that in the pictures below. Is it missing, or is it hidden and will comes out with the touch of a button somewhere?

7. The weather is always summer in my country, and I plan to sometimes drive the car shirtless and with its top down at the old bauxite mining pond where all the cool chicks hang out. Should I wax my back?

8. I would appreciate any general advise or pointers on what to look for on the car before making the purchase.

This car will cost me MYR 200K, which translates to USD 60K. We have very high import taxes in Malaysia. This money can feed a family of 6 and their 12 goats for two generations here. This is a big purchase for me and my girlfriend is gonna be super pissed and will probably back out of the foursome she promised for my birthday. So I would really appreciate your experienced advise on my queries above. Thank you in advance.

Regards from Malaysia,
Stud Daddy.

1) To my knowledge, I don't know of any stock seats that came with red stitching. I could be wrong. It looks sweet though.

2) Our odometers are digital, and they can't be rolled back. Unless they replaced the entire cluster (doubtful), that's the actual mileage. Some people just don't drive their Z's very much, hence the low mileage.

3) If you do this, be prepared to pay a hefty amount, as the shop would have to strip down the entire car to change the color. I suggest looking for a black roadster to avoid painting.

4) I do not recall the codes, but Magnetic Black is the nice.

5) I see nothing peculiar about the interior.

6) I'm not a roadster owner. Someone else may be able to help you more in this area.

7) Wax your back. You'll sweat and stick to the seat though.

8) If possible, ask to take it to a reputable mechanic to check the car over and under for any signs of being wrecked, etc. If everything checks out, enjoy the car.

If you are a troll, I must admit that you at least are a very entertaining one.

Yes, I believe so.

I don't think so.

A paint shop should be able to find out that information for you. If not, maybe an email to Nissan Japan?

7. The weather is always summer in my country, and I plan to sometimes drive the car shirtless and with its top down at the old bauxite mining pond where all the cool chicks hang out. Should I wax my back?
We would need to see pictures of your back to know. Try to catch us between meals however.

Four wheels and a motor would be a good place to start.

I'd feed the family and the goats and take the foursome. Not that I have any experience with foursomes. That assumes of course that the goats are NOT involved in the foursome.

Dhays and Silverstone,
Your replies much appreciated.

I can send pictures of my pre-shaved Malaysian sweat glistened hairy back. But can you afford a lifetime of Prozac and therapy? :-)

We do like a little kinky variety, but nope, the goats will not involved in the foursome. They do make a good curry though.

yes they do come with red leather stitching. My car has it.

the odometer information would be difficult to mess with. Would not be worth it to the salesman, monetarily.

Rock out with your **** out Malaysian dude

I lost my Apu accent when I went to school in Starkville Mississippi and worked on a farm breaking horses and herding cattle before coming back home to Malaysia to pursue my lifelong ambition of butt modeling.

I got that roadster....painted it white, slapped on some 19" rims, some lighting upgrades, etc. etc. and now I'm a happy happy man. I love the feeling behind the wheel, and I love the way it makes heads turn at the traffic lights and gas stations. Had a girl working at the gas station the other day ask me where I was going and if she could come for a ride. I would have said yes if she wasn't butt ugly.

350Zs are pretty common here in Malaysia, but the roadsters are rare. As far as I know, there's only one other in my state (an ugly yellow one pimped out to look like an Aston Martin!).

Absolutely no regrets buying my 350Z roadster.

Is it easy? i dont know. Is it possible? YES. My buddy had his odometer lowered by 9,000 miles by someone at Cartronics which qualified him for warranty work.
