You will most likely go into a serious depression and require professional medical care.

I've had my base model for over 5 years and I still love it. It does everything I need. My traction control and cruise control is in my right foot. I really haven't missed the limited slip so don't think I will be putting in an LSD anytime in the near future. The base works for me.

Just go Enthusiast...its not that much more and you get a few goodies.

Noone wants to say "Hey I have a base" ANYTHING.

Well maybe a Base Z06...

I love my base. Just wished I had the brembo calipers, VDC, and LSD but mostly they can be upgraded with aftermarket parts

If you mean driving in snow, just get 4 winter tires. They will get you through the light snow and slippery conditions without any problems. Once the snow exceeds 4 or 5 inches, the Z's ground clearance creates problems.

Buy another STI. Why would you downgrade to a 350Z?

Enthusiast is only $1500 or so more than Base; you get a lot of goodies for the extra money.

Just keep in mind, the only down side to the base is it DOES NOT have an LSD. that's a must do mod if you plan on making any real power.
Totally agreed. Oh btw, I love my base here. Saved close to 4000 by not getting enthusiest model. Also, i should mention that base doesn't come with a cruise control..I don't know if that's something you really need in your car.... I could care less about cruise control

Bought a (new 2008) base model for $23,900 a few weeks ago and very happy with the bang for buck. Took it to the track yesterday and I agree it needs a LSD ! Anyone know how much labor costs are to install? I imagine this invalidates the factory warranty?

^^^i would say yes and no, on the engine hell no, but on your differential its a strong possibilty. now days theyre "supposed" prove that the modification you did is the reason that somethings wrong. now honestly, if i add the vlsd from the factory i dont think anyone at a dealership would ever know the difference, since 85% of z's have these anyway. i think it would be more of a suprise for them to see an open differential, if its even possible to tell a difference. thats also why im strongly considering a 4.08 final drive while i put a vlsd in because its really one of the only things you can do to make your car significantly accelerate faster without touching the engine, so warranty stays 100% intact. also they probably couldnt tell the difference on that one either even if theyre looking at it. cheers
