Default Which Z...

I'm lookin to buy a used Z (over 25k miles), but heard that the 03 and 04 models have a problems: tire featherin, and transmission problems. Just wonderin how many people hav this problem and if I should really worry bout it, or look for a 05 model instead? Thanx for any help or advice.

for the sake of argument I am going to have to disagree with davidv here and tell you that no, you should not worry about it, and you should just wing it, and buy your Z in good faith because the test drive got you excited

I guess a better answer would be - there are ways to tell if they are expieriencing these issues. check the inside of the tires for unusual wear patterns, if they are new tires not much you can do about that..

If you can afford an 05, you definately will lower probability of problems.

Whatever year, have a mechanic check it out. that is best insurance.

I can afford a 05 model but the extra money that would go to buyin a 05 would hav been used to buy new 20" rims n a new coat of paint if i get a 03. Thanx for the advice tho.

I have a 2003 350z with 83K miles on it, and about 15 track weekends...Still have original stock driveline.

If you are going to turn it into a track car...then get the cheapest thing you can within reason.
