To buy? or not to buy?
My car:Black 2003 Nissan 350z Touring model-29k miles 90%perfect condition
Might buy:White 2008 Nissan 350z Base model-50 miles 100%perfect condition
I went to the dealer today to see what I can work out. I got them down soo low they told me they will pay my car off (17,000) 8% interest 26,999(without tax licenses) 450.00 a month. I said Ill sit on it for a day or two. I'm not sure if this is worth it but it seems like I'm stealing the car from them lol. Opinions on the sale?
BTW my payments right now are 364.00. So 90 bucks more a month and probably will raise my insurance but I only pay 160 for that a month.

Well I mean 90 bucks more a month for a car thats 5 years newer and no miles. I might need a clutch soon and a transmission. I grind 3 and 5 hard only when cold.
BTW they ran my credit and everything. I spend 3 hours there talking with the sales guy. He was getting pissed because he keeped going lower and lower. I got the credit to get approved for a lot of ****.

8% at this time is absolutely ridiculous. My bank is 5.5% (about $30/month less). If I understand you right, you're financing 26,999? If that's the case, it is not going to be any $450 a month. Try 547 a month. Sounds to me like the standard sales bait-and-switch. The salesman says it'll be around this price, then they turn you over to the finance guy and he hammers you.

You are paying 3 grand too much.
You were there 3 hours too long talking to a jerkoff salesman.
You should be getting a better rate if your credit is 700 or higher.
I would make them a low offer or find another dealership.

You haven't even paid off your current car and you are wanting to increase your monthly payments plus insurance premiums to buy a new car? This sounds like a bad idea on several major fronts.
1) You are borrowing to buy a car. Bad idea, particularly at 8%
2) You are trading in a not-yet-paid-for car to a dealer, very poor recovery of your depreciating asset.
3) You are buying a NEW car! Why buy new when you could buy a good used car for thousands less, still under warranty, and with the biggest depreciation hit already taken for you?
Instead, consider this:
1) Keep your Z and pay it off.
2) Save your money so you can buy a car with cash.
3) Sell your Z when you have done 1 and 2 above and we aren't in the middle of a huge economic downturn.

Dude you'd be better off buying the new 370Z.
But actually you should keep your current Z and deal with getting a new clutch. Now is the time to upgrade to a nice clutch/flywheel combo. You'd be surprised at how much more responsive the Z feels with this done.
