Default 05/06 pricing questions

i am looking into getting a z. i found a '05 touring and a '06 enthusiast. both are automatic with about 22k miles or so. both are sold through a dealership.

i've checked bluebook, both goes for roughly $19k more or less. what would be considered a good deal for either.

i'm going to test drive this weekend. any help on pricing would be great.

My base 6MT 06 is worth about 18.9 maybe 19.5 on a good day with 26,000 miles.

With the 370 now on the market, I bet used prices are going down. I'd offer 16 Gs or so and see what happens. Time to be patient, imo.

19750 otd? that seems a bit high.

i was checking an '05 g35. the seller was asking 18k, got it pushed down to 17.5k, and even that i turned it down.

Maintenance costs on Z are not any higher than other cars. One exception: tires. A set of good tires installed will be at least $800. The tires will last 20,000 to 25,000 miles...or about half as long as tires on most vehicles.

I think you're overly optimistic. I paid $20k for an '06 GT with 21k miles a few months ago. I could probably do better now considering the time of year, the new model year, and the general economy. Granted, I paid cash to a private seller. What you could get for a base '06 with 26k miles would be quite a bit less. I'm guessing that private party value now would be about $17k for your car at the most. Trade-in would be several thousand less.

There was recently a 2006 enthusiast model w/ ~32k miles at a local Nissan dealer that was listed at $16.9k. Needless to say, it was gone before I could even check it out.

i offered 16k OTD for the '06 z today at the dealership. and the salesman pretty much told me to beat it.

he wanted 22k OTD for the car.
