Default Need help in purchase 07 touring

Hey,
This is the info about the car
07 touring
30ishK miles
1 owner
left rear impact (seller said it was minor. was in body shop for 2 days)

seller did all maintenance by himself
I offered $13k. He said he will think about it. Is this too good to be true?
If agreed upon, I will ask for copy of driver license, title. Is there anything else I should ask for/find out?

What shipping company is recommended?
Thanks alot. I admit I am bit nervous at the prospect of maybe finally getting a Z.

James

damn..

13k is really cheap..
better take it for a drive first.. or talk to the body shop that did the repairs to see what happened..

Get it inspected and get the CarFax report. Frame damage FTL!

Some owners are willing to except offers below market. Don’t be put off by a low price. What surprises me is that the owner did not take your money. Not a good sign.

Yes. A bill of sale and title.

Actually the seller is not local so I wont be able to inspect it.
The seller sent me pics, and it does look fine. He said only the bump was replaced.
I ran an autocheck report and it verified 1 owner and the left rear impact accident.
This guy's location is an air base. Is that fishy?

Doesn't seem fishy to me. If I was buying a car out of state I'd drive/fly to actually see it in person.

Not at all. Military people often live on base.

Report says its a clear title.

It does say duplicate title was issued by DMV. Seller said he lost the title before.
And the lowest shipping price I got so far was $791 from Auto Shipping Direct

Fly out to check out the car. Then drive it home. New cars you can buy sight unseen, but I wouldn't do that with used cars.

Ok guys I am very close in purchasing.
Which inspection company is better?
SGS http://consumer.sgsauto.com/(r3dde1n..._it_works.aspx
or Carchex? SGS is $100 while Carchex is $155.
And asked him for his Military ID (is this good or is it must to get driver license?), Vehicle registration, title, sale.
Is everything all good?
I want to inspect the car and have all documents before putting down $2000 deposit.
Then when I pay in full, he faxes title, etc to me to register at DMV?

thanks guys. will update

Get a bill of sale. Is the down payment necessary? That can be tricky. I would like to see a down payment annotated in a bill of sale. Include any stipulation for the possibility of getting your $2,000 back.

Let me understand this. You are buying a used vehicle sight unseen?

link <----car

The car is on ebay so if I pay deposit through paypal, it should be protected. So far I got his military ID and pic of title. Still waiting for his driver license and vehicle registration (required?).
I am planning to have an inspection company inspect the car because Idaho is too far for me.

Sounds like a plan. Registration is no big deal. You have seen the title.
