Thinking of buying a '06 350Z
Hi guys,
I'm located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I'm interested in purchasing a 2006 350Z. I had a bad experiencing purchasing my previous car from a "fine car" dealership. As soon as I purchased the vehicle the support there was terrible. Basically, once I bought the car they didn't give a crap about me. That's why I was wanting to purchase my 350Z from an actual manufacture dealership. Even if I couldn't get it directly from Nissan I would be happy getting it from say the used car lot of Toyota, Acura, etc. However, I've been having trouble finding the 350Z I'm looking for at these kind of manufacture dealerships. There is another one of these "fine car" dealerships that has the 350Z I'm looking for. I'm wondering if I should purchase from here.
What kind of things should I be looking for when purchasing a new 350Z? Any major flags to watch out for? Should I get a Carfax/carreport?
All help is appreciated

Welcome
a. Know what model you are shopping for. Study the various models so you can tell the difference.
b. Keep your eyes open for a previous "tuner" car. Signs include removed forced-induction mods and piggyback modules attached to the ECU.

youre not going to get any good feedback because everyone who has never owned an 06 will tell you its going to have oil consumption problems. so youre going to have to do your own research on 06s. mine was perfect
^^ Some were perfect. But people who are telling him had cars with this issue or read it on here. My 05 G35 was perfect too, but a friends 05 G35 had oil consumption issues and had to get a engine.
If you take the VIN to a service rep at a dealership, they'll probably run it for you and if there is any record of oilconsump, then they'll tell you if you lie and say you want the problem 'fixed at their dealership'
+1. My '06 has just under 25k on it and doesn't consume.
to me, the only way to truly know the condition of the car you're looking to purchase is to get the vehicle professionally inspected. i know there are a handful of companies that you can find on google (i.e. aim mobile inspections, carchex, etc.) sometimes the carfax report just isn't enough, because it could be missing some key facts about accidents and whatnot. to be completely assured with the car, you gotta get it checked out. hope that helps! happy shopping!
