Default Report shows Fleet, Rental, Lease. Concern?

The history report of the Z's I am considering shows it to be a "Fleet, Rental or Lease" car. I am guessing it is more likely a lease than a rental, but is there any way to tell?

Any special considerations, or things I should look for, when I inspect and drive it?

I see a big problem; Most rentals are automatic.

Probably a lease, not a rental.

No way to tell. May be a lease return. May be a rental. If the Z is well cared for should not matter.

A sales guy told me that a telltale sign of a rental is unusually high mileage in relation to the year.

Checking out one of them tomorrow; blue/black 2007 touring convertible, 30k miles.

i dont see this being true because leases have mileage limits that are ridiculously expensive to break. i think most leases max at 12K a year, and since the american average is 15K a year, id assume that the mileage would be 'average' at worst.

idk about a lease though. think about it, someone had this Z in their possession for 24 months and they more or less dont have to pay for anything if it breaks; wouldnt you drive the **** out of it if you didnt have to pay for things?
but playing devil's advocate, not being mean or funny, but since its probably an automatic, and a convertable, it probably wasnt leased by a kid or a young guy. so it may be good to go! get it looked at is all i can say

My bet is on a female.

As far as the question of it being a rental goes, I would doubt that it is. I rent a car about 3-4 times a month and I can't remember ever seeing a Z for rent.

i'm running into the same concern. auto check rolls these 3 items into 1 'check'. seems pretty vague for them to do this when someone is trying to tell the history of a vehicle.

i rented a 350Z in phoenix from Hertz once so it is possible it was a rental. And by the way the rental Z was totally gutless .

it could easily be lease though like OP said, since nissan obviously leases them
