Default fair price to offer for 03 touring

silverstone 350z, touring with 16k miles, asking price is $28,500. what would a good deal for this Z be (not a low-ball deal, but fair for both eme and the dealer)

any help is appreciated, i will probably not buy it unless i can talk them down to $25k, since I can buy an 04 base for 27k, which is all i really need/want.

I'm not even going to try and tell you what I think you should offer. But whatever you offer, keep in mind the updates Nissan's made in the '04's to fix the bugs in the '03's.

Not sure what the latest word is on the suspension change for the last half of the '04's either.

I'd say 26k would probably be fair for a '03 Touring with 16k miles.

Is it a 6 speed? Does it have navigation? Side air bags? Spoiler...etc etc...

having personally paid 39k OTD for my loaded touring z it makes me a little sick to my stomach seeing the horrible hit i'd take if i sold it 4k miles and less than a year later...26k seems way low...ugh...shoulda bought a bimmer. never seen a car lose so much value so fast.

I think that the depreciation you would experience is artificial. Not everyone overpaid.

Willing to bet some of your loaded Z options aren't on the Touring he's looking at (Nav, aero, etc). Nav itself is 2 grand so it adds up quick. Still a kick in the nuts though. Part of the risks involved buying first year of a new generation. I believe the '04's with the worked out problems will have higher resale though.

I just picked up a 2003 touring 6 speed with 14k on it for $25,895. It is loaded with everything but Nav. (has Aero, kick plates, trunk mats, air bags, etc.) It was from a Nissan dealer, but up in MA it just snowed last night, so they were rushing to get it off the lot, otherwise they were shipping it to FL. The asking price was $28,595, I waited them out and got my deal. Pikes Peak White on Frost, I love it.

it has aero and 6-speed and no nav, they are willing to take 25k$. but wouldn't pay off my trade in, so we're still working out a deal. My bottom line is $500 a month and they are trying to get me taht and give more for my trade, i'll keep you posted..it snowed here a little this morning, I expect a call soon...

Make sure they don't bork you over getting you your $500/month by stretching out the payments and or screwing with the interest rate. They'll probably get you your $500 but you'll end up paying a lot more than $25k to do it if you let them.

Always ask to do the math and find out what your net payoff is going to be after everything's said and done.

if I can get 500$ a month for 60 months, it will be them that receives the 'borking'

Makes me feel better that it was a deal. I wasnt REALLY looking for the car yet, but it seemed too good to pass up.
