Default Thinking about purchasing 03 350z touring

hey guys i been searching for my perfect zed and i came across 03 350z touring with 40k miles. The seller is asking $15k but after checking nada, I discovered that the car is valued @ $11k. Whats a good purchase price for the 03?

The seller is smoking dope. If you are friendly maybe he will share.

I am also looking all around for a 03-04 Z, and I'm willing to give 11k cash. It is low on miles though. So if you want to give a lil more then that it's fine imo.

thats what i thought as well. I checked nada and his car was worth $11k but he told me that he used KBB in valuing his z.. So I guess my question is this: which one do i believe? Nada or KBB?

Do NADA, KBB, and Edmunds, and then average all 3. That should give you a fair value of what to pay IMO.

$11,000 got mine for $9,700. but has 100,000 miles runs and looks
like new and is the Touring. And clear Title no rebuilt. 11-12 for
low miles clear title.

i did some research and discovered that 05 350z has bad transmission problem. Does 03 have any transmission problem? I had 01 Acura CL-S and had the worst transmission problem and I promised myself that I will never buy a car with known transmission problems..

If you want to pay $11k and he wants $15k why don't you just settle on $13k? Its low mileage anyway. Unless thats expensive for out there because I know Z's go for a little more here in NY.

I was thinking offering him around $12k for his car. I seen other zed's for $12 - $14k w/ 45k miles..

I was looking for a 350z for about 3 months before deciding on and buying one. Honestly, you probably don't want a 2003 unless, obviously, it has great miles and a great price. Would definitely not pay more than 12k for the aforementioned car. I bought my 2006 350z enthusiast for just over 14k, mind you, I have to put about 1k into it to replace the O2 sensor and a belt along with a few exterior cosmetic issues. As for the transmission, the 03-05 models have had their share of problems, that's one of the reasons why I got the 2006. Other reasons include more horsepower, bi-xenon headlights, led taillights, etc. My honest opinion is if you can get that dude that's smoking crack to lower his price, get it, but cars that are older have more problems and also with that year, as mentioned before, will have transmission issues. You have to decide if it's worth spending more money on a newer car, of if you want to spend less for an older car.

You believe neither:

Make a budget
Determine the max you are willing to pay.
Visit the seller and make your best offer.
