Should I buy '07 350z with salvage title?
Hey, I'm new to this forum, but I used to an 05 350z so I thought I would make an account. Anyway, I was looking around craigslist for a 350z and found an '07 with 35,000 miles for $9,000. It turns out it has a salvage or rebuilt title which is kind of detering me.
Do you think it would be worth it to have a Z at such a cheap price with a bad title? It was a one owner car then it got hit in the rear. From what I could tell there was no frame damage and everything was repaired pretty well.
What do you guys think?

Well, has it been inspected since the new title? Is it road worthy? There are obvious reasons it was totaled in the first place.
Make sure the air bags were put back. That is the most common cost cutting measure when putting a totaled car back on the road but it is also one of the most costly repairs.
But don't be afraid of a salvage title if repaired properly. Just understand the problems with trying to resell it.

^yup as long as u expect to take a loss in wat u pay when ur ready to sell and understand the difficulty in selling a car with such a title i say go for it assuming its been fixed properly. this is an HR motor z? those fetch for double that $9k price so not a bad deal

No. While you'll get a great deal on it, that low price carries forward when you try to sell or trade it later.
The only way I would I would consider buying one was if 1) I plan or making a dedicated race car out of it 2) I planned on keeping it "forever" and run it till the wheels fall off.
At that point it's worth $0 anyway so it's better to pay less up front.

I wouldn't get that 350z because that price is too low for a 07 with only 35,000 miles. To make my point the seller could easily get 14k out of it, but I think something is wrong with it for the seller to get rid of it for 9K.
Dave has a point too!

Thanks for the insight guys. I'm looking into some other Zs from the 06-08 range with 6mt so chances are I won't get this one, but I was just curious about what you guys thought. I drove the car and it was stable, no shaking, at highway speeds. I might get it inspected tomorrow, but I'm mainly looking at two other Zs so it depends on how it goes with those ones. Anyway I'll keep everyone posted and I just wanted to say that I love the forum. I'm an active member of e6fanatics and allfordmustangs and I feel much better here.
Thanks for your help guys!

If you're looking for a 6MT HR Z, you must not have read all the threads here about problems with the clutch and concentric slave cylinder. Save yourself some trouble by getting the 5AT.
