Default Thinking about buying one... thoughts?

Hey, I'm thinking about picking up a 350z.

What are some things I should know?
Wear at tear to look for?
Any major flaws fixed between years?
Any other thoughts on the car?

My general sense of things from reading around a bit is that they fixed most of the issues by the 2007-2008's. Not to mention that you get the more powerful VQ35HR that I believe is also slightly more reliable.

They didn't fix the tire feathering issue, and they added the horrific POS concentric slave cylinder for operating the clutch.

The TF issue can be dealt with by having good alignments done yearly and changing to better tires.

The CSC is best avoided entirely by getting the super nice and bullet proof 5AT.

This forum is filled with thinking about picking up a 350Z threads. Maybe 1 in 10 thinking about members ever gets a 350Z. And the other 9? Don't know - they never return.

Some people drive the Z, are excited with its performance and handing, and buy one.

Others ask more practical questions. Reliability? Gas mileage? Maintenance costs? Daily driver in snow?

If you want an exciting drive get a 350Z. If you want performance AND reliability look at the RSX.

Go for it! The fun and memories you have with the 350Z is well worth the investment. They hold their value well if maintained and are in demand. If one day you sell the money differance between what you bought and sold it for will be well worth the memories.

Same goes for the 17yr old guy ,just bought a z...wants to know what it will take to TT it.Like he's got the cash...
It does get tiring, these repetitive questions.

A 350z in Seattle.

Use of plans for the Z?
Track *****? Ultimate weekend warrior? For show? DD?

Commuter car?
Hell no. Average mpg's are ~20. But some of us do it.

Seattle weather where it rains 300 days a year.
Decent tires are a must for the heavy rain when it happens like what's been going on recently.

Northwest snow and ice plus RWD?
Hell no.

How long can you have a two seater car?
Up to you. It's not the best family car / grocery getter.

Is the Z exciting and fun?
Hell yeah it is.
