How can I tell what model 350z I have? I just bought it 6 weeks ago and the owner said it was a touring model. My credit union said they couldn't tell by the VIN#. It has 17 inch rims, cruise elect windows, rear Defog,no power seats, adj mirrows,no navigation.

I can tell by the vin.
I lied I can't.

-Base: no cruise control buttons on steering wheel.

-Enthusiast: TCS button on lower dash below steering wheel but no heater switches for seats.

-Performance: VDC button on lower dash but no heater switches or Brembo brakes.

-Touring: Heater buttons on center console.

-Track: Brembo brakes and VDC button. (though I suppose someone could add Brembos to a Performance.)

06 and up

BASE - Nothing on the steering wheel

Enthusiast - Cloth Seats, No Brembos, Steering wheel controls all there, TCS

Touring - Leather seats, BOSE, No Brembos, Steering wheel controls all there, VDC (6MT only)

Track(? I forget if 06 has it, it got the ax in 07) - Cloth seats, Brembos, steering wheel controls, VDC (6MT only)

Grand Touring - Leather seats, BOSE, Brembos, Steering wheel controls all there, VDC (6MT only)

Edit: by leather seats I mean w/ heated switches and automatic controls on the sides toward bottom of seat.

The only real way to tell is have a dealer or NNA look it up in the computer from the VIN. So many cars have been modified and have had parts swapped, it's hard to tell anymore for certain just by looking at one.

You might be able to figure it out from the info in this thread...

Default G-force chip

I installed a G-FORCE chip on my 2003 350z yesterday. The resistance reading to identify the two wires I needed was not conclusive. The voltage procedure was better. I just want to make sure I have the 2 correct wires. Can anybody tell me the colors of the two wires on the plug I need?

Never mind. I thought this was important. Important enough to say “thanks” or simply reply.
