Things to check before buying a used Z
Hello Mates,
I am very new to Z world.. I am crazy for Z since i saw it in Tokyo drift. I saw a Z350 2005, 125K on the clock and auto with 6 speed triptronic. Test drive it yesterday found it a fun car. But as i am from KSA the parts for Nissan is a bit expensive. So guys i need to know what should i check the car before i buy.
The guy claims that the car has no issue and ready for any computer test. So guys pls help me out
Few things i found ( as i drove the first Z )
1:- the streeing wheel seems to be a bit hard
2:- the torque seems to be less as compared to my commodore vz V6
3:- top speed ( the guy claims he reached 280 Kmph ) but i found video with 250 max
4:- is it good for long distance like 1k or more without stop over ( except refuelling )
5:- He informed me this Z has dual clutch like
Thanks mate

Walk away.
Regardless of the fancy word you use. It's an auto.
1) wut?
2) wut?
3) Red Flag. The guy bagged it. Who cares what the top speed is? You are never going to see that speed on a public road, and you won't see it on a track either.
4) Subjective.
5) No it doesn't.

Run away. So much crap poring out of the sellers mouth.
The auto is a 5 speed not a 6 speed and there was never a dual clutch offered in the 350Z. Tiptronic is not a Nissan creation its from Volkswagen.
The car is electronically limited to ~250kph and wont go much above that even if you remove the limit, it wont hit 280kph stock.

Sounds like a piece of **** because it's an auto. As others have said, walk away. If you want legit tokyo drift, go 6 speed manual (6mt), or go home. Just pick up a cheap 03-06 6 mt and mod the hell out of it with a roots type stillen stage 4 like that car had in tokyo drift, you'll probably still have to wet the roads for it to spin or run bald tires LOL.
If you don't want to be laughed out of here, go read the FI sub-forum and look at real builds before even looking at other Z's to buy. You'll notice about 99% of them are manual transmissions. 1% are for jackasses that can't deal with shifting in traffic.
