Default The 350z vs. 370z which one?

Hello all! I'm Andre, so long story short, graduated from nursing school and began working full time (no student loans) Currently I own a 2004 G35 Coupe in 6-speed and as much as I love the car its just not that feeling you get in the Z car in my opinion...

- My question is simple, which Z car to get? is it better to get an older 350z model throwing on some bolt-ons, and perhaps a supercharger(probably not though since id break it) and getting a nicer daily-driver? or is it worth it to just splurge and buy a newer 370z that's loaded I want my good audio/heated/seats/nav etc. but i do really like how the NISMO model looks and I'd more than likely daily drive it until it snows and thats when I take out my shitbox 1995 Galant, or wait another year and see if they will release a next-generation Z car?

This is a question that only you can answer since, you know your situation in life and the expectations you want from a car. Do what you want and buy the one that makes you happy.

My suggestion, do like my fiance did after she got out of nursing school.....work and save money. You have a good career and money is there, but i would live modestly for a bit to get money saved up

Good advice from one and all, and I'll add one caveat. The BRUTAL TRUTH is that waiting another year for a new Z-car will be in vain. Nissan has no definitive plans for a production Z35 to be released anytime in the near future. Go seek out a good Z33 (maybe a NISMO 350Z) and enjoy life for now.

Drive both and see which one you like. If it was me, I'd spend $10k to $15k on a nice 350z.

If you want more zip in the car consider adding simple bolt-ons and a tune. If you want even more consider a supercharger or turbo setup.

Assuming you cant do the work yourself (nothing wrong with that) find a good shop w/a good reputation and have them do the work. At your request, a good tuner can tune the car to be overly safe and reliable.

My disclaimer will be that no turbo kit nor any tune will withstand being neglected or abused ... so know what maintenance and upkeep your up against if you go down this road.

I am currently at an acute rehab hospital not sure if its what I wanna do but its a good first start (been here since I was a CNA) I do live at home with the 'rents still so saving up for a year or two sounds solid, eventually id like to reward myself! a used GT-R is probably still outta my grasp I would say huh? I have been looking at some 350z difficult to find decent ones I feel that haven't been beat to hell, especially in a color that is not silver, so 350 over the 370 anyday huh

I'm in the minority here but I would suggest a 370Z. Yes, I own a 350 but also owned a Z34 and here's why I say this:

- Z34 is lighter and most importantly, stiffer where it needs to be, thanks to extensive use of aluminum and composites.

- Z34 starts at 332hp and goes to 350hp (Nismo) whereas 350Z is pretty much limited to 287 and max on HR at 308hp or so (STOCK, people, chill out! )

Following where I'm headed so far?

OK, not enough?

- More Z34s available for reasonable prices to choose from in varying configs.

- More used and CURRENT aftermarket support since it's still in production.

There will be others who will vehemently counterpoint this. No care. The 370Z is clearly the contemporary choice based on logic. Except to those who will tell you they don't like the STYLE. Psh.

Ive been noticing a lot more 370s ... the only thing is that I’d be using it a lot more daily (except when it snows) the 370 Touring looks good fully loaded etc. and living in Mass. Once I went heated seats I don’t wanna go back but the Nismo model looks amazing, torn... is there a big difference between older models (2013) and the newer 2019?
