Default Zaino and P21S

Just want to clear something up. I know that some people layer p21s over their last coat of zaino but the next time you want to detail do you just straight to zaino or would you have to use dawn on the car? Dawn would not take off the zaino, right?

thanks doc, just want to make sure. After you apply the p21s, you would have the dawn wash your car everytime if you want to go back to zaino?

Supposedly. Zaino only bonds to the paint and to zaino itself so theoretically you shouldn't layer zaino on top of the p21s.

Zaino bonds to two things:

1. Bare Paint
2. Itself....

Hey Doc I have a question for you. I am going to buff out the light swirls marks on my car and I was wondering about the process. I have about 18 coats of Zaino on it now.
My plan:
Wash car
Use my 7424 and Meguairs swirl remover
Wash car with Dawn
Apply two coats of Z-5
Apply Z-2 and the new Z-8
Does that sound like a good plan, any suggestions?

Kevin is hardly one of my students. He probably knows a lot more about detailing then I ever will.

I don't know enough about the swirl remover you are going to use to tell you for sure but if it is just a "filler" like Z-5, if you wash with Dawn AFTER you use it, you will simply be removing it and you'll see your swirls again.

What do you say Kevin?
