I need a polish that DOES NOT attract dust! --
I have three coats of Zaino on my car, and it looks gorgeous... for about 5 minutes. The thing is a dust magnet! Very static-y... the dust doesn't want to wipe off... intead, it just gets pushed around in clumps unless I use a damp rag.
What other products will yield similar protection with better anti-static properties? Is Klasse any better? How about Blackfire?
Are these both polymers, and can they be applied on top of Zaino???
Thanks for your help!
Mika

What color is you car?
To be honest, you might be out of luck on this one. Zymol, and Meguiars weren't too bad, but I could feel the static in certain areas. I wonder if any waxes contain scotch guard!! =)

My car is REDLINE color...
I contacted Sal Zaino, who emphatically denied that Zaino has anything to do with the static build-up. He suggested that my polish rags aren't being dried properly (I'm supposed to remove from drier when still damp, then air dry fully...), or that my car cover (NOAH from CoverCraft) is imparting a static charge. He's probably right to some extent, but I can't ever remember having this problem when I used to use Nu Finish on my Camry...then again, I never covered my Camry. I contacated CoverCraft to ask for their suggestions...

Do you use a california duster? They do a good job of keeping it clean. Also try some microfiber towels. I finally got to try one and that thing was GREAT! did a claybar on a '98 GS400 and the thing was practically dry still at the end.
I would think that Redline wouldn't show the dust as much. Well, my old Z got pretty dusty and it was red. =\
lol... rub is down with a bounty sheet!! J/K!!

Yeah, I certainly use Z-6.... to seeminingly no avail.
I'm beginning to think that my car cover is largely responsible, in part because of the dry winter weather. I may try washing my cover and air drying it to temporarily kill the static charge....
We'll see what covercraft has to say for themselves.

Winter air and low humidity really makes a cover build up a charge, mine has actually made a popping noise when I have taken it off in the winter.

CoverCraft finally got back to me. They suggest I try using Static Guard spray on the cover... interesting thought.

Mika, You are right on. It's the weather/time of year. Don't fret.
Use Zaino as the good Doctor recommmends , the Ca. Duster and wait for Fall/Winter to pass. It happens every time here in So Cal this time of year...

I think the recent rain and lightening storm brought some relief to my cause... I've left my car uncovered for the past three days, and it looks no worse than my car after a few hours just a week or so ago. Thank god...
Regards,
Mika
