When to Zaino after Fresh Paint Job
My wife's Maxima will be ready this friday. Basically the whole car was re-painted due to extensive hail damage.
So how long does the fresh paint need to cure? BTW, it was painted a few days ago.

The body shop ought to be able to give you a recommended length of time but if they don't, it's a good idea to wait a couple of months. As opposed to a FACTORY paint job where you can wax it the day you bring it home.
Depends on the paint, usually it is 30 days, but the body shop i took my wing to used DuPont paint and theu said 90 days. I think it depends on the coats and type of paint...but 1-3 months is what i have heard as normal
1-2 Weeks. I've done this on 2 different cars now with EXCELLENT results with no adverse effects.
If you let it sit for months without protection the paint will be ruined before you get a chance to put anything on it.

Check out that thread. 2-3 months is the wait period. Ask any paint manufacturer what they recommend.
Don't listen to your body shop guy. They paint cars not detail them. Find out what paint they used and contact the paint manufacturer.
