Engine Detailing Writeup!!
NOTE 1: Moderators please feel free to Sticky!!
NOTE 2: I am not responsible for anyone trying this, and you do it at your own risk. I have NEVER had any problems with my car or that of my parents/friends after doing this!
Products Needed:
- 1-2 Cans CD-2 Engine Detailer
- 1-2 Cans Foamy Engine Brite Cleaner
- A few rags
- Low Pressurized Pressure Washer
Step 1: Make sure you get a plastic bag big enough or something to enclose your intake in that way no water will get into your motor. Also Make sure all freefloating/disconnected electronics are also covered.
Step 2: Make sure engine is completely cool, and apply Engine Brite Cleaner too your entire engine bay. Spray the cleaner from each side of your engine bay (Left Fender/Front Bumper/Right Fender) that way you know you have sprayed everything at every angle.
Step 3: Leave the Engine Brite Cleaner on there for about 10-15 minutes. (During this time go read a magazine or make a sandwich or something)
Step 4: Get a low pressurized pressure washer, low pressurized as you don't want to mess anything up, and spray don't the engine bay...again from every side of the engine bay (Left Fender/Front Bumper/Right Fender), and make sure everything is gone.
All the dirt should be off at this point although your engine won't yet have the bling bling effect.
Step 5: Get a spare rag and get all the heavy water off of everything, all that is neccessary is a quick wipedown.
Step 6: Spray the CD-2 Engine Detailer on every side of the engine bay (Left Fender/Front Bumper/Right Fender) making sure you got every nook and cranny.
This is where time is spent!!!
Step 7: Let the Engine Detailer sit for 20 minutes with the car not turned on, giving it a chance to soak in.
Step 8: KEEP ENGINE DETAILER ON THE ENGINE BAY!!! Take the Baggy off of the intake,And start the car. Let the car sit with the hood open for 10 minutes, and then another 10 minutes with the hood shut. This adds to 20 minutes of your car on and idling!
Step 9: Shut the hood, and drive the car(not hard driving) around the block or on the beltway for about another 20 minutes.
Step 10: Get home, pop the hood, and wipe down any excess Engine Detailer!
By this point your engine bay should be bling blingin!!
