I am starting to wonder if this is a quality control issue because it seems like there are a bad batch out there. I wish Macklin or their distributors will back their product.

this is BS, i have roughly 300 miles on these wheels, and one of them has a defect. Hell, maybe my other wheels have it too, i need to check each of them closely

hrm.. I'd lean twords SOME sort of change in the clearcoat that is applied to the wheels (yes .. even the polished lip is clearcoated) I've had my Volks for 3 years now.. and .. no problems.

The more people that comes out, the better the chance Macklin and distributors will listen. Yelling in groups/crowds are much more effective.

I'd like some more people to chime in that are having problems with their Volks and where they purchased them from. I tried to call Macklin, I left a message but have yet to hear back.

I've seen the purple before on a set this guy tried to sell me. I bet a lot of them do it because I seem to see a lot of Challenge's go up for sale.

Aren't Rays and Volks all made by same company?

I have a brand new 06 GT with rays and have an issue as well..:

I encourage you and everyone else to call Mackin Industries and e-mail them pics of your wheels. They need to know that there are numerous people experiencing this problem

Mine have been perfect, no purple whatsoever.

All I use is Zaino Z-7 wash and Zaino Z-6 to shine.

Are you sure that the discoloration isn't from UV light or something?

Weird problem.... if anyone figures this out please post details! Especially what Rays plans to do about this.

Maybe if you buy volks that have been sitting on a dealer's lot for a while, they are more susceptible to this effect. Personally, I had to wait for mine from Japan so I assume they were "Fresh" when I got them. Maybe the more recent batches don't have this problem...
