A detail shop will clean wheels. But dang how difficult can it be.

I second that... Why can't you just clean them yourself after every wash? If you wash your car every week or so, you should have no problem cleaning your wheels each time

If you're driving the Z in a midwest winter, then cleaning the wheels can be a chore. There's probably tons of salt and dirt on them, and the cold weather doesn't help either. My advice is to get a beater or remove the wheels and scrub them down to get at the hard spots.

What is it that can't be cleaned? Brake dust, or a more serious problem like etching from an acid bath? Brake dust, even the toughest baked on crud can be cleaned; damage from an acid bath will require a refinish.

How bad are they?

Here`s my process (a simple one btw)
Step:
1)Clean them with hose and water
2)A little hand agitation with a fine soft brush.
3)Repeat step 1, but this time use ''Hot wheels wheel cleaner'' (comes in a pink hand spray bottle)
4)Get down and dirty, and scoot underneath your car and spray the wheel cleaner from the other side. (Or take the wheels off if you prefer)
5)Repeat step 3.
6)Ensure EVERYTHING is nicely rinsed off
7)Dry and wax.

It realy dosent take that long once you get the hang of it

Goodluck,

Did you try wheelwax? Http://www.wheelwax.com I use it; I actually used it on my wheels before I ever put them on my car. I did both sides of the wheel too.

I took the wheels off the car and they were really bad. This crap has been on the wheels to long and it actaually pitted the rims! I have tried everything and I am not kidding when I say everything. They are also missing clear coat so I was like screw this and sent them in today to get fixed!

Thanks for all the help though!!

Ah, missing the clear will do it. Enjoy the re-finished rims. Like the other guys I highly suggest investing in some wheel wax or poorboys wheel sealant; it'll make that dust easier to clean off down the road.

Cheers.

I've got some Konig Next rims and the outside spokes are polished, along with the lip, but the inside areas are not. I didn't have much time during the winter to clean the rims thoroughly and now the brake dust is etched into the rim. I tried using "The terminator" and I also polished the rims by hand. No good. You guys think "hot wheels" will work?
