Default I know Dawn is the root of all evil but...

It's all I have now and I don't have any wax on my car yet. So does anyone know how much I should dilute with about 3 gallons?

..I hope you're kidding. If it's "all you have NOW", I would recommend splurging the 4 bucks and getting some good car wash. To answer your question, it's my understanding that a Dawn or two won't necessarily HURT your paint, but why get in the habit now? Personally I clayed and protected the paint with Blackfire, but wouldn't use Dawn for anything but removing and starting the Blackfire process over. If you were in the shower and ran out of shampoo, would you use Dawn on your head? Why use it on your car?
Just my .02 and good luck.

Be careful with Dawn! I used too high of a concentration and it feels like my hands have been chemical burned. I hope my car is ok.

Well you see... I ordered alot of products from properautocare and I'm expecting them next week. I have a PPW and all of the brake dust and dirt really show up so I need something to tide me over until then. Unfortunately where I live there isn't a Pep Boys (or equivalent) in a good 70 mile radius. So do you know of any place that might carry a good car soap?

if you are coming around a site like my350z.com, you should know the precise locations of at least 6 auto parts stores in your area and at least 2 24-hour stores.

argh... kids these days

There is a Pep Boys right in Chula Vista, Ca. on East H Street. I use to live near it. You can't be more than 10 minutes away from it. I think someone is lying to us.

Yea I remember that pep boys it was on broadway actually. I didn't like it much I prefered the one next to the Regal Cinemas. Unfortunately I'm not living in chula anymore I relocated to Brawley. I did infact manage to find some MeGuires stuff in the local Safeway. Thanks I didn't think to look there.

Thumbs down NO DAWN!!!

Dawn users simply amaze me. You spend thousands for that special car, hundreds for those special detailing products, and $1.80 on a product to wash your car that was originally designed to remove chicken grease from dinner plates.

Why don't you get a paint cleaner that is designed to do just that, clean the paint, remove any old waxes, and prep for new wax?

BTW, it is a DETERGENT!!!! It may not hurt your paint, but what do you think it's doing to the trim, rubber around the windows, etc?

GEEEEEEEZZZZ!!!!!
