i was wondering if its ok to use those high pressure washers when washing the Z (b/c of all the complaints about cheap paint).. im not talking about those high pressure washers you can buy and keep at home.. im talking about those places where you can go .. put in a few bucks..and wash your car..
anyway, does it harm the paint?

I only use the pressure washer on my wheels. I don't think you can beat washing by hand to get car really clean. Does it hurt the paint? Don't stick the nozzle to close to the surface. Input anyone?

I do pressure wash regularly, sometimes several times per week. Just spray thoroughly to remove all the dirt, soap, wax, etc... I do around ~20mins per wash.
Then drying is the tricky part, since you don't want to create swirls, or scratches. Therefore I use soft-silicone blades and clean after each time. Then I detail using <quality trashable microfiber towels> like for automotive glass. I may use 3 packages to get the job right.
Yes, I know, overall pretty $$, but the Z deserves it!
After that I use Zymöl wax/polish, once a month and when I don't have that much time, I use Teflon wax.
Good luck!

I take mine to the DIY washes. I think there is a "low pressure rinse" setting if you're worried about messing up the paint. I usually use the high pressure on the wheels and the brake calipers b/c it's extremely useful for removing brake dust. Sometimes I'll run the car through the touchless wash, and sometimes I'll just use the high pressure rinse to clean it off and I haven't had any paint problems from it. Definitely don't use those brushes there though.

I like to go to those places at night, like 9pm or so when noone is there. Then I can bucket wash to my hearts content! And nobody will cry about it either. Nice and cool for waxing also

No, those brushes are NOT "super soft" though. So stop saying that!
I realize "soft" is a relative term but those brushes are used on hundreds of shi.tty dirty vehicles.
I too go late at night w/ two buckets and a lambswool mitt.
