I think the soap helps but the spot free is mainly because of the filter.

i don't remember anyone saying that they were attempting to save 5 minutes of car cleaning time, actually the thread appears to focus on an effort to minimize/eliminate water spots. but thank god someone around here knows how to clean a car "right"...ROTFLMAO!!!!

ok thank you Maxim. Maybe it would be better to use another car soap normally out of the bucket and just use the filtered mist to finish up the wash...i will experiment around if the film shows up.

Holy ****, ladies and gentlemen: We've just read the most useful post of this thread!!

Keep in mind that what I consider 'right' for my cars and what you consider 'right' for your cars can, and apparently are, different.

It appears this may be a challenge for you...but let's give it a shot anyways. The OP wanted to know what type of experiences people were having with the mr clean car wash system with regards to mineral spots...so various people were sharing (including yourself).

But being the tool that you are, it appears that this thread should be about what you consider "right" for your car v.s what i consider "right" for my car...blabbaby blah...when I am guessing no one gives a $h1t.

I use it in between washes and it works really well. I have not noticed any residue. I do it in the early evening as the sun is about to set. Works great for me.

Apparently you give a **** since you're trying to be an e-thug and cause a stir about what I posted.

So instead of being sophmoric about this, I'm going to assist your reading skills. The starting post:

Where within that post does the thread starter specifically ask about mineral spots from using the Mr. Clean Auto Wash?
It doesn't.

Yes, there is a question regarding the if the Mr. Clean Auto Wash will dry automatically without leaving residue or suds. "has anyone tried this...?" is in fact the main question.

So instead of being an ***, try posting with intelligence and relevance to the topic at hand.

my mistake, what i called "mineral spots" was actually referred to as "residue or suds". i took this as trying to get the car washed without leaving any type of markings...call it whatever you want. so i shared my experience with the product the OP was asking about.

e-thug? that is funny, i am not even close. i am having a lot of trouble keeping my car clean and very interested in finding the best way to keep things looking nice. I am currently trying this very product. So when you drop in with all of your infinite wisdom of the "right" way, instead of coming across as a know-it-all tool with a one line answer that explains nothing...how about sharing your all encompassing knowledge on the "right" way. I am not seeing the film some people are talking about so I am trying to figure out why.

I have read 100 different articles and there appear to be 100 different opinions on what is best...maybe you will have some new and original information, I am counting the seconds and holding my breath.

These last couple of posts are starting to get a little too testy. Let's get back to posting STRICTLY to the subject at hand and leave the attitudes out of it.

A lot of the guys who originally test it out were OCD (obsessive-compulsive detailers) and as such, want perfection in their Z's finish. A short cut like Mr Clean is not going to give you the same results as doing it the Autopian way.

If you want your car to look good, be easy to clean and dry, then give the Mr. Clean a try. You won't have a perfect car-show finish but it may be more than acceptable to you.

I've been using one for over a year now and it's worked well for me. The water here is pretty harn hard and the car is SB so it's the worse of both conditions. I use the de-ionized water and follow up with a leaf blower and microfiber towels.

Thumbs up Mr. Clean

I used this product today and I was really happy with the results. Not one spot after I let it dry (about 5-10 minutes in shade). One thing I hated about doing it the old fashion way was the big mess all over the place (hoses, buckets, rags, spounges, brushed, etc.). This was one easy unit and it took me about 20 minutes to wash completely. Like others have said, it wont give you that show quality but it did turn alot of heads and a few people stopped during their walks to see how I got it so spotless.

Finished off with some Turle Wax Ice.

Cool

I do not have the "complete system", but just buy the green "refill" wash solution. (Unless you have very hard water you don't need the carbon filter, etc.) I wash my car with it just like any other car wash soap.

I can use this in a bucket, or in a car-wash "wand" with hose attachment. It seems to work well, and in NJ you can get away with using it in direct sunlight in winter time. . . NOT the summer!

In the heat it still seems best to dry the last few water drops with a chamois, though. So far, I have not noticed any problems with a film or residue from the product.
