Consumer Reports latest car wax ratings
I love how some of the waxes up there that are not cleaner waxes whatsoever got an "excellent" mark in "cleaning"
Interesting report but I am not swayed whatsoever
... Zaino/Meguiar's all the way for me.
Also not surprising that things like nanowax which are designed to cover up swirl marks got good reviews.
Remember that even on these forums...whatever people use they usually think is "the best"

You'd think it is but it really isnt. Only the first few times-- it needs to be layered and then you see a huge difference. That stuff never comes off lol. I think after the 3rd coat i started to see such a big difference between regular waxes and zaino. I feel like it actually bonds to the paint and really evens it out.
Good info, thanks!
I have about 4-5 coats of Zaino on the car. I must say, if you have a good paint job Zaino really enhances the color and finish. Give it that nice "wet look." However, I have also found that it can magnify any underlying paint imperfections. I started to notice some issues on my fiberglass hood that Zaino brought to my attention.

I hold CR in pretty high regards but I wonder if this test was out of their league. I'll be the first to admit that I follow a lot of their recommendations regarding products, but most of those were the results of objective testing, not the subjective results of this type of comparison. Since they use their own staffers for these tests, I doubt there were any "detailers" in the panel.
I think I'll stick with the Guru Reports recommendations on car waxes and polishes over Consumer Reports.
How did nxt not get a full red circle for gloss and a full one for plastic compatability? The gloss is mind blowing (like zaino for 1/3 the price) and the bottle says "do not get on plastic/rubber trim"???
These CR ratings seem suspect. It takes me 30 minutes to do the whole Z with NXT. I tried Jett but it's so involved. I haven't tried the Trigger version yet, supposedly this is easier.
However, it's an acrylic so I might as well use Zaino or Klasse.
If I used NXT first, would Zaino cover it up, or take it off?
