Default how to get tape residue off glass?

hey guys.. well i just got a replacement t-top for my 300zx... i got it from a salvage yard. the top looks fine and everything... but theres this big line of residue (looks like its from tape?) on the glass panel. if you simply scratch at it, its just caked on there.. not gooey at all, just hard stuff.

does anybody know how to get this off? what kind of remover i should use? i'm going to be heading to kragen and look for something.. but in the mean time.. help!!

Goof Off. Best I've found for sticky/gummy stuff and dried latex paint.

Be very careful with Goof Off - that will remove paint. Goo Gone is the safest way to remove tape residue.

I'd suggest 3M Adhesive Remover- it's a strong solvent and will readily remove glue or graphics, but seems easy on paint.

yeah the 3 m is your sure bet. it is strong and will also remove wax so any where you use it be sure to wax afterwards. on glass, just use a glass clener after the solvent.

I don't know how much it would work in this particular situation but I have used WD 40 and even olive oil in different stuck-on sticker residue situations, and a little elbow grease of course. Just a diy tip .
