Default Is this a good way to fix swirls?

Hey all,

I have a Z and there are lots of swirl marks on it. I went to Wal Mart today and bought Meguiars Scratch X, NXT wax, a, and some spray detailer after reading up in the forums.
I was thinking along the lines of...
1. Scratch X (do I just rub it into the panels until it disappears?)
2. NXT Wax
3. spray detailer

do you think this will work?

thanks

Good start. But scratch X is not meant for applying on a whole car. To make your Z looks perfect/swirlness, invest on porter cable and a good polish.
It may take some time, but in the end, you will find out why.

You'll get replies from pro detailers here that will explain the detailed 12 steps into bringing back the deep black gloss look.

If you want to know a quick way (just doesn't last as long) use some "Zaino"

all that walmart stuff isnt going to get rid off your swirls, they are just topicals for your clear coat, when your car is swirled up due to people who dont know how to use a buffer, you'll going to need a low rpm dual buffer with some premuim glaze, clear coat compound and so good wax...

No. In order to make a swirl-free car, you have to generate a good amout of 'heat' by cutting clear-coat to make it level with using a buffer. Using hand method is only to hide the swirls by using wax.
www.autopia-carcare.com has very good info that you might need.

They won't fix it. You made the mistake by buying black. What year is your Z? It will only get worse!

Use a Porter Cable and Zaino ZPC, worked on my swirls!

+1, people who don't know how to detail their cars should not get black. But since you're trying to learn, i recommend going to the forums at www.autopia.org.

Meguiar's NXT wax is good at covering up minor swirls. But it can also make your really bad swirls look a little better.

Isn’t there a detailing forum that covers this subject?

The buffer you need is the Porter Cable. I ordered mine from here http://www.autogeek.net/po.html

Take a look and read about it, it's the best one on the market.

Also I would have to give the +1000 on the Zanio products. I got the whole product line for Christmas and I'll never use anything else.

I didn't pay that much for mine because I bought it a year or so ago, I think it was 250. As for the time it takes me about 4 hours start to finish and as for the RPMs I run it around 5 and half for just about everything.
