trim on steering wheel

Default trim on steering wheel

The metal trim on the steering wheel of my 2004 roadster has a clear coating that is wearing off. How can I fix???

I'm having a similar problem. The coating on the trim piece where the cruise controls are is wearing off.

50k and it's doing it on my as well. I thought it was dirty and made the mistake of using a scrub pad on it to clean it and scratched the surface.

I've also had to replace the mirror once because it started to chip. This last time though I used a Black Sharpee and just covered over the white spots over.

23,000 mi. My dealer is afraid to remove the metal plates where the cruise and radio controls are located on the steering wheel because he is afraid of triggering the air bag!!! I just wanted ideas about how to recoat the plates.

I have the same problem but have decided to live with it for now.

I'm not sure if Bluebatmobile does these, but how about overlays?
