Default Detailing driving me crazy!

Since I've been getting a used DB track pack Z in march, I've been experiencing the usual obsessiveness about detailing the new ride. Only problem is, the car wasn't mint when I got it, and I'm especially obsessive compulsive when it comes to cars.

I freak out whenever I see scratches/chips/swirls, and already have had the hood, bumper and front fenders repainted due to rockchips...then had the bumper clearbra'd. There are also lots of fine swirls/ scrathes here and there that I can spot. My friends have repeatedly told me that I'm being wayyy too concerned (especially since it's daily driven), yet just now after detailing, I freaked out because I noticed all the tiny tiny chips on the lower doors near the sideskirts. It's driving me nuts since they're obviously there, but they're to small to touch up. I'm almost thinking I should just give up, as It seems I'm just fighting a battle that can't be won.

Haha, now that I've ranted, just wondering if any of you feel the same way as I do, and wondering what you may have done to stop feeling so crazy!

yup...almost everytime I was my car I see new scratches, chips etc. I am very particular and careful with my car. Never park near anyone. Careful washes etc. Breaks my heart.

I am the same way when it comes to my car. But, you have to understand with a daily driver your going to get this stuff. I just try and keep it to a minimum. How can the chips be too small to just touch up. Just use a toothpick to fill them in.

in a little over a year, my car is riddled with small scratches from rocks. the whole bottom part of my car is scratched. i still wash and wax it regularly. it does bother me but its my choice to drive the car instead of garaging it to keep it perfect. so for me to get over being so effected by blemishes on the car, i enjoy sitting in the driver seat more than i do in my garage looking at the car.

+1 shinkuu. In the end of the things the car was meant to be driven, and that's what I do.

Keep the car in the garage. Don't take the risk of driving it. It might get dirty.

+ 1. Only way to keep them perfect is by not driving them, then that's defeating the purpose of owning it, well for most of us.

Default DRIVE it HARD!

It's still fun being obsessive about it. AS long as it looks shiny from 10 feet, no-one is going to see the rock chips.

Since most cars have a 4-5 year new-to-new model cycle, you might as well drive it and not worry. In the end someone will give you an extra $500 for your well kept car. Is that really worth keeping in the shrink-wrap for?

Dents, chips and dings are unavoidable on a DD... my 07 is flawless now having only had it 3 weeks, but I know it is just a matter of time before it receives it's first beauty mark. I am careful where I park and avoid driving up on dump trucks and such, but other than that there isn't much you can do. Regardless, yeah, admittedly I am an OCD freak when it comes to washing and detailing.

i just finished washing my car lol and yes its annoying but luckily i have hardly any chips since the clear bra is on the car and you can't really see swirl marks on silverstone. So the moral of the story is if you dont like swirl marks get a silverstone z it hides alot of imperfections lol.
