Got the Borla True Dual...

There are now black spots at the bottom of each exhaust tip after 1.5 months of driving... how do I clean em up ? :]

I use MOthers metal cleaner on my exhaust and a microfiber towel. Takes all the nasty black crap off and makes it really shiny

I have a 3 year old can of Turtle Wax Silver polish... takes the carbon off VERY well!

 

I like eagle one wadding. Comes in a Metal Can and you just pull a piece off and rub the dull or dirty piece and wipe off. It last forever (it seems).

 

Yeah.. I use similar stuff called 'never dull'. Its a metal/chrome polish I use for my pinball machine parts. Its AMAZING what this stuff can do.

Have spots or rust or stuff.. this makes it disappear.

I had the hard caked on stuff on the inner lip of my tips.. and BEWM.. gone

 

I second the vote for 'Never Dull". Stuff is great!

 

I wash them every time. Standard procedure; wash the top first, dirtiest last, the very last thing that gets washed is the bottom of the exhaust tips. They're always dirty, but they clean up real easy.

 

we use never dull in the marines for shining metal....works every time. i use it on my motorcycle and Z.

OR if you can find it, WENOL (from Germany). Turns everything black, then wipe off.
Never do this hot or even warm- it makes a mess.
Soft cloth to buff up the shine

 

is it safe to assume that nevrdull can be used on the cat portion of the exhaust as well? it's pretty black there too for me...

edit: wow, just realized that i dug up a REALLY old thread.

 

brasso worked great for me and a hole can cost 3 bucks!
