Default Claybar?

I'm planning on claybarring my z today...Is this the same claybar you can find in an arts supply store? I looked in pep boys and they didn't have one.

Did everyone have to order theirs? I have to go and buy the claybar, quick detailer, polish, and carnauba today (my car needs a nice long bath today...too much dust and oem swirls)

Where'd you buy it? I'm in NJ too, so I could probably go and get it from the same place. Also, what kind of wax is in it?

I would not use the Meguiars clay bar, it sheds off on the paint like mad. The best clay bars are Mothers (Walmart) , Clay Magic (autozone) and Zaino Z-18. We at Zaino are the only ones that gives you just the clay bar and nothing else, our bar is 4 ounces and the retail store versions of Mothers and Clay Magic are 2 ounces but they make you buy the wax and detailer spray also.

Ok, so how much am I looking at for a Zaino bar kit? Shampoo, clay bar, polish, and carnauba (I hear it looks better on red cars than synthetic...more depth)?

bought the kit at the pep boys near rte 287 / 28 in bridgewater - near the new baseball stadium they put up a few years back -

the clay bar does leave itself all over the car if you dont lube it up well tho - i usually clay a tad drier tho because i like to get everything out of the clear coat and i sometimes do have to go back over some spots that look yellowish from the clay.

unless its me not using it right

Be careful. If you don't put enough lubrication between the bar and the surface of the car you can scratch the car and do more harm than good. The Mothers combination is pretty good because it has the Detailing Spray (lubricant) already in the box. I have read great things about Zaino as well, so as soon as my Mothers runs out, I will get some

Just run a garden hose constantly in conjunction with your claying. This gives you tons of lube for the job. I have never had better results than when I used to do this. Why don't I anymore? Because I have lived in apts with no faucets. But now I do...

Mequiar's, Mother's or Zaino? Might not be a difference in quality, but 2oz Vs 4oz makes a BIG difference. When lubed, it is hard not drop. You must lube. Go look at (autopia-carcare.com), a of good info on claying. Let your fingers do the walking and you will probably find a wholesale "Detailing Supply" outlet that will sell you clay. Insure you get the "Very Fine". The bar is even bigger than what you get with Zaino. However, if you don't mind waiting, just order Zaino!
