I have Meguier's Scratch X laying in my garage, bought it last year but I have never applied it to my car. Is that the same thing?

Probably. Manufactures put a light grit compound in a pretty bottle and give it a new name. New bottle. New name. Same stuff.

I would think that the scratch X and swirl X are different products because a scratch is deeper than a swirl, thus a stronger grit would be needed to remove a scratch versus a medium to light grit to level out swirls.

That is just my assumption though
