Default Good buys to start?

After doing a little research, I went and picked up a couple things;

Meguires Gold Class washing soap
Meguires Gold Class Liquid Wax
Mothers Clay Bar kit
Simoniz Sheepskin mit
2 Microfibre towels
Bucket with a grit guard

Good start? I plan on doing everything today, its relatively nice here (+3 degrees celcius) so should I worry about being in direct sun, etc?

DB350,

You should try to clay/wax indoors for not only will the sun be a problem, but the particles in the air could land on your paint while your claying and cause swirl marks.
But if you must just make sure your paint is cool to the touch at all times or else it will over dry your products and cause hazing or cake your wax on the paint, making it nearly impossible to remove.

Your definitely on a good start. I started off with basically what you have purchased and slowly built up to buying better products. 3 products that have changed the way I wash are Blue Grout Sponge, Foam Gun, and do not forget Waffle Weave Drying towel. I also keep a bottle of degreaser of which I dilute to a 20:1 or 10:1 ratio. My next purchase will most likely be PS21 Auto Cleaner (which is a lot better to degrease on paint than what I'm using).
I also like to search for world's most expensive car wash on youtube and watch the video to get me motivated, or read up on the detailing guides on detailedimages.com
