Default how many micro fiber towels

When you guys clean your car, how many micro fiber towels do you use? i don't think i'm using them effectly for their price. Because i don't have a hose to spray water all over my car, i grab a M.F (micro fiber) towel and a spray bottle contains water and soap. So basically i spray and rub as i go...a lot of work..
I use one or 2 towels.
How many of them do you use and after you are done with them, what do you do with them? Use them again on the next time car cleaning, or since they are dirty, you use them when you work on cars? Sometimes i use those dirty towels to clean the wheel and then, throw away..

Woahhh! You throw away your towels?!?!?

You can re-use them. Use a microfiber cleaner like:

Just don't put them in a dryer. Let them drip dry.

THe towels get really dirty after cleaning the rims. A few times, i put them in the laundry and run it. And i can smell the dirty sh**t so i had to run water and detergent again. But i don't think running brake dust in the laundry is a good thing to do.
Or sometimes, i just keep the dirty towels in my garage and use it to clean up oil and stuff like that.

I buy the microfiber cloths in bulk at Costco. At 15 dollars you can wash the serviceable ones and throw out the really grimy ones.

Your washing technique sounds terrible. You wash the car with a spray bottle? How do you rinse it before drying.

what do you mean by rinsing. I only know spraying and rubbing lol. After i get rid of the dirt, i use the dry area of the towel and try to get the water streaks cleaned off. I don't like spending money on cleaning car haha. The car gets pretty clean with the spray technique though.

Since i live in an apartment, I don't think it's ok to use the hose to wash cars.

Think about what you are doing. The surface in covered with dirt. You wipe the dirt with a towel. May as well be wiping the paint with sandpaper.

i just keep on flipping the towel. Because i use my own tech, i do it often so that dirts don't keep on building up.

^^lol seriously. You might as well just leave the car alone and get it hand washed some place. What you are doing is just making swirls and scratching the clear coat. How in the world are you cleaning your entire car with a spray bottle? Wouldnt that take many many hours? Might as well just buy a big bucket and dump the car with water/soap if your not going to get a hose.

Woah! I just realized what the op was doing!

Use the hose at your apt and properly wash your car, or take you car to carwash.

If you had a SB/MB Z, you'd be kicking yourself.

Instead of throwing away the towels that you've cleaned the wheels with, just make those dedicated wheel towels. All the towels I have in one color only touch the wheels, another color takes care of the body.

Just had paint body work done and my installer said he buys microfiber towels in bulk from places like Sam's or Costco. He uses them once and just tosses them. I used to reuse my towels and he advised against this because most detergents are made of abrasive materials and these cling to your towels. OP would be better off just visiting his local spray/wash site and doing it himself. Only way to get rid of swirls is either through a very skilled detailer or just coming up off the cash for a respray.
