Default Exhaust now has golden hue

I used some stainless steel cleaning compound to clean my exhaust and now it sorta has a golden hue to it. Any way to get this off or is this normal?

Any pics? It's hard to give advice for something without a visual.

That coloration wasn't there before?

I've seen that golden color from heat discoloration, usually hit it with the buffer and polish it right off personally.

eesh, like the abrasive stuff used for industrial kitchen sinks.. not good.

Get the red cone buff wheel from an auto parts store.. get mothers aluminum polish, and just use that.

You may have scratched the hell out of the pipes it sounds like.

It's called corrosion. The most common metal resistant to corrosion is gold. I suggest you buy a pure gold exhaust.

The Corsa exhaust on my truck is turning goldish. I plan on polishing it soon.
