random orbital polishers
Hey everyone,
is there anyone with any experience with random orbital polishers? can anyone reccomend one by Sears or anywhere else within reasonable prices (under $100.00 bux) either electrical or pneumatic...? Im looking for something small, one hand held to apply wax/polish evenly with no swirls or scratches. any help would be appreciated.

Porter Cable, model 7336 sold at Lowes, everyday price is 109.00 , it is by far the best on the market, has 6 way adjustable speed, comes with a fixed foam pad, not the greatest, get a velcro quick change backer plate and the Lake Country foam pads from www.topoftheline.com for the best set up.

Thanks, I purchased the 7336 today at Lowes for $109. I will test it out on my sisters black 96 Sentra before my Z.

You will probably want to step to a quick change velcro backer plate sold thru www.topoftheline.com and get the Lake Country pads also sold thru them....

Recently I had someone tell me that some Lowes are stocking the 7424 model Porter Cable instead of the 7336, does not matter that much, both are the same machines, the difference is the 7336 comes with the 6 inch pad counter weight and the 7424 comes with the 5 inch pad counter weight for anti vibration...
too bad... Best place to order is www.coastaltool.com
They have a "Bonus Kit"...at $119 it's an unbeatable package...
7424 PC Random Orbital
Velcro Backing Plate
6" Counterweight
5" Counterweight
Wrench
The 6 inch CW and the velcro backing plate are a MUST HAVE. The foam pad that comes with any of these kits are worthless. Throw it out! Get pads from www.properautocare.com or Meg's.

If you get your pads from www.topoftheline.com instead of Proper autocare, they are 2 to 4 dollars cheaper for the same pads from top of the line..... its the same pads also made by www.lakecountrymfg.com
Hmm, I love my Sears 11" Random Orbital. It is beefy and has never let me down. The 11" pad is hard to get into tough places though. I have used a $40 cheapo buffer once before and the difference is amazing. The cheapo would skip all over the place and not actually buff. It rotated too quickly and had no weight to it. I have heard great things about the Porter Cables though.

I have another orbital just like your Sears, those do not have detachable head units and are not speed adjustable like the PC is, once you get the PC you will never use the Sears again.....
