Is Zaino Worth it for a White car?
I have a PPW Z, and I wax it quite a bit (about once every 3 weeks), and I'm running out of my Black Magic Liquid Shine wax, and was wondering if spending all of that money on Zaino is Truely worth it on a white car. Thanks. If not, I'd either stick with something I could just buy @ the store (ie: black mag, meg gold class). Thanks. Also, anybody have pix of a zaino'd ppw?

Heck yeah, its worth it. I used Meguiars Gold Class before switching and absolutely no comparison.
I can't get any good pics, I'm not good with the camera, ect.
My only complaint on Zaino is that it collects a lot of dust after you wax. But thats what my California Duster is for,
Love the product. 4 coats so far, and each coat seems to make the car shine better and better.

I was a little concerned about spending the money for the Ziano when I first started checking out all this. But I will honestly say I love the shine and the way it's easy to maintain once on. I love it. Make sure you get opinions from those who have truly have used it and not just those recommending what they use. I find these forums somewhat frustrating sometimes when trying to get to the truth. Zaino is a great product, but it's not cheap. It is easy to maintain with little effort once on and you use the wash and detail spray in between applications. Regardless of color.
Alrighty, sounds like it's time to splurge. I went to the site and saw all these diff polishes-- I just want the wax and the spray wax for after washing or waxing... Ummm, which number do i need? I don't need car wash and I don't need the claybar-- I basically just want to be able to apply coats of wax and spray the wet shine when I wash but don't wax right?! Thanks... Just Z5 and Z8 or whatever numbers they are adn kinda why i need them would be great. Thanks again.

But you know.... If you're about to start putting on Zaino, it really would be worth a little extra care and, what, ten bucks for the claybar. The difference in smoothness after the claybar is very noticable; it will help you get the best results from all your future Zaino coats.
If you're not going to wash with the Z-7, what are you going to wash with? Just curious.
By the way, I don't really consider Zaino to be all that expensive. It seems expensive when you're pricing it, but it goes on so thin that a little goes a long way. I'm still on my first bottle of ZFX after 18 months!

I have been using Zymol for years. Here is a picture of my 1992 Dodge Stealth taken last summer. The car was 12 years old at that time. The Stealth has had nothing but HDCleanse and Zymol Creame wax since it was new.

Thx-- Ordered Z-5, zfx, and z6. I got a claybar @ home, so didn't wanna spend $ on that. Thx for the help, I'll probably dedicate a wax day in 2 weeks, as i just waxed the week before.
It does seem expensive initially, but 1 single coat should last a good 4-6 months. Unfortunately, I don't have a garage, but Zaino does a great job protecting the paint. It can get expensive if you start putting on multiple layers, which is inevitable. Once you start, you just want to keep adding more coats. I've calmed down a bit ... only adding 2 coats in the past couple months. The first 3 months I had my car, I applied 15 coats of Zaino. Here's a testament to Zaino's protecting ability: I Zainoed my bro-in-laws MR2 and my dad's truck. They got egged 3-4 times each about 2 months after the Zaino application. You have to look real close to tell where the cars got egged. I had always heard that eggs do some nasty damage to paint, so I'm guessing that the Zaino played a big part in dissipating the eggs damaging effects.

However, if you want your finish to look its best, you might want both.
No matter how careful you are, micro-scratches will appear. Z5 helps fill the scratches in.
In addition, (and this is an art, not a science) people find that different combinations of Z5 & Z2 look better on different color cars. For example (this is documented in a prior thread, I don't want to take the time to look it up right now) when a new formulation of Zaino came out last year I was talking to Sal about a show I was about to attend, I told him I wanted the car to look its best. He asked me what color my car is and when I told him he suggested that I might find Z5 gives me a better shine!
I was skeptical, so I drew an imaginary line down the middle of the car, put Z2 on one side and Z5 on the other. At the show I asked everybody which side looked better. Everybody there agreed with me, the Z5 side had a better shine! Go figure!
I now usually use Z5 (I don't Zaino very often now that I have a good base) but I will occasionally throw on a coat of Z2, just to liven up the mix.
